If there’s one thing we’ve learned during the long and chaotic lead-up to Disney’s live-action Snow White, it’s that Rachel Zegler has a remarkable talent for making things worse. And now, even as the dust settles from the film’s shockingly weak box office debut, Rachel Zegler has re-emerged—not with humility or grace—but with a self-congratulatory Instagram post declaring, “#1 MOVIE IN THE WORLD! 🍎❄️”

That’s right. After Snow White faceplanted into theaters with a dismal $42.2 million domestic opening and $85.3 million worldwide, Zegler posted a photo of her popping out of what appears to be her trailer striking a pose, and proudly proclaimed herself queen of the weekend. Comments? Disabled, of course. Because even she knows what the reaction would’ve been.
This isn’t just tone-deaf. It’s theatrical delusion.
Let’s be clear: Snow White may have topped the box office this weekend, but it did so in the weakest release frame of the year. It had virtually no competition. And even then, the film fell below projections, underperformed just about every major Disney remake in recent memory, and became a case study in how not to launch a $250 million tentpole.
But to Zegler, who has never appeared in a financially successful film, it’s “#1 in the world”—as if she’s standing atop the ruins of a billion-dollar empire and demanding we all applaud.

The irony is palpable. This is the same actress Disney has been shielding from the press tour for months after her barrage of viral PR disasters, including calling the 1937 original “dated,” labeling the prince a “stalker,” mocking traditional fairytale romance, and—lest we forget—telling Trump supporters they should “never know peace.” She alienated Disney loyalists, families, and fairytale fans alike, and the studio had to resort to tightly scripted vignettes overseas just to get her face out in public.
And now she’s back, posting photos of herself grinning in front of a trailer door and pretending none of it happened.

Meanwhile, inside the halls of Disney, the mood is likely anything but celebratory. A $250 million production budget (not including marketing) paired with one of the weakest openings in Disney live-action remake history isn’t a win—it’s a liability. The shareholders likely aren’t high-fiving. They’re calculating just how deep this hole goes, and whether the brand damage is reparable.
This is not the moment for a victory lap. This is the moment for reflection, humility, and—dare we say it—silence.
But Zegler’s post reveals what so many have suspected all along: this was never about honoring Snow White’s legacy or the legacy of Walt Disney. It was never about the fans. It was about platforming a message, a personality, and a star who seemed more interested in being seen than being sincere.

Now, in the face of failure, that same personality is trying to spin a technical #1 finish into a triumph worthy of celebration. But audiences aren’t buying it. They’ve already spoken at the box office. Loudly.
And no amount of emoji-laden Instagram posts can rewrite that reality.

Zegler is chugging down the copium harder than the Democrats.
Zegler is doing the same thing she’s been doing since this movie was announced: making it all about her. She won’t stop because how else is she going to get the attention she clearly craves?
I’m reading this from Belgium, and I can assure you that even here, in this tiny country, film critics are making a mockery of this “actress” and what Disney did to her animated film Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.
Mr. Walt must be turning in his grave at what his legacy has become… The magic of dreams no longer works. And Zegler will never make people dream.
