The Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser opened yesterday to real guests for the very first time. They’re a little over halfway through their experience now, and some of the first impressions are starting to come out. One of the oddest things is that the entrance area still doesn’t seem complete and Disney is using a couple of giant shipping containers like you’d see transported across the ocean… and they’re using them as a sign for guests to turn into the Starcruiser valet parking area. That’s just odd and very unlike Disney. Is that permanent somehow?
Other than that oddity, there are positives and negatives that are coming out. It’s nice to now be getting thoughts and opinions we can more readily expect as attempting objectivity. Take a look at what is out there so far:
WDWNT has a rundown of the lunch buffet items, and overall they don’t seem impressed. We recommend you check out the full article as they review each food item available. Here’s their synopsis:
This wasn’t up to the quality we would have expected, given the price of the experience. The buffets on the Disney Cruise Line are better. Some of the more inventive things (salmon, crawfish, vegetables) just weren’t good, and the less inventive things (salad, pizza, desserts) were just average.
One guest aboard the first paid voyage is noticing that the agenda for his day involves a lot of spying… and not much more. These could be fantastic experiences, it’s just funny to see how many “quests” of the same variety are on the Data Pad:

David Vaughn is showing everyone exactly how you escape the Galactic Starcruiser from your room should there be a reason to evacuate.
🚨 Emergency escape door for the Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser.
Note that I’m not entirely sure if this is how it’ll work (and I should also point out that this is not a tutorial for a real emergency 😏) #GalacticStarcruiser https://t.co/xWaxNLEs0m pic.twitter.com/f8YWNL2Lj1

Here’s what the very first transport to Galaxy’s Edge looks like. Although it’s inside a box truck, it does a nice enough job of theming the experience.

These are the emblems you keep on your person in Galaxy’s Edge so that cast member know you’re with the Starcruiser:

We’ll bring you more information as it arrives about the Galactic Starcruiser. In order to protect identities, we have sent a reporter to the experience just yet. However, we do expect to do so in the future.
How is all of this looking to you? Let us know in the comments below!
