Refreshment Port, a quick-service food and beverage location at EPCOT in Walt Disney World Resort, closed for refurbishment effective January 12, 2026, according to updates on the official Walt Disney World website.
Located near the entrance to World Showcase, closest to the Canada Pavilion, Refreshment Port traditionally serves a rotating menu of quick-service items, including snacks, soft drinks, and seasonal offerings such as poutine and soft-serve ice cream. As of the closure, the online park calendar shows no listed hours for the location through at least mid-March 2026—the furthest dates currently visible.
Timing of Festivals
The closure of Refreshment Port occurs just days before the start of the 2026 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, which begins January 16 and runs through February 23, 2026. In previous years, the kiosk has participated in festival menus by offering themed food items. Because the location is offline, it will not host menu items during this year’s Festival of the Arts. Meaning one less potential venue for festival food.

Similarly, the refurbishment is expected to affect Refreshment Port’s availability during the 2026 EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival, which is scheduled to start in early March; Disney’s calendar does not show the location reopening before that event begins.
Disney has not released a public statement about why the refurbishment is taking place or what specific changes might occur at the site. The official dining page for Refreshment Port on the Walt Disney World site briefly notes that the location is closed for refurbishment and directs guests to check back for updates.
Context
The absence of Refreshment Port during peak festival season reduces the number of food and beverage options available to visitors, particularly for those seeking festival-specific offerings that the kiosk has provided in the past. Other dining locations and festival Food Studios in EPCOT are expected to continue operating as scheduled.

Refreshment Port has experienced temporary closures in the past for routine maintenance and updates, although closure periods have varied. The current refurbishment is notable for its timing at the start of the year’s festival schedule. In more recent years, Refreshment Port has been used more frequently during EPCOT festivals, when it served limited menus tied to those events. Outside of festival periods, the location has often remained closed or operated on a reduced schedule.
Guests planning visits to EPCOT in the coming weeks are encouraged to consult the official Walt Disney World website or the My Disney Experience app for the latest information on dining location statuses, hours, and alternative food options throughout the park.
