Thor: Love and Thunder may be a fantastic film — that has yet to be seen one way or the other. But two fan-favorites won’t be joining the adventure.
According to a quote obtained by WDWNT, neither Jeff Goldblum nor Peter Dinklage will be featured in the cinematic release of Thor: Love and Thunder, even though both were on set and filmed at least one scene. This is especially disappointing for Goldblum fans as his Grandmaster character in Marvel is a very interesting persona… plus, Goldblum is riding very high following his Jurassic World Dominion performance.
The cut is confirmed in a quote by Christian Bale:
I got to work with Peter Dinklage, that’s not in the final film, but he’s fantastic. I got to work with Jeff Goldblum, he’s not in the final film either. As you see, a lot of stuff ends up on the cutting room floor even though it is beautiful brilliant stuff.
Well, that’s truly a shame…
Getting a read on the quality of the new Thor movie, as well as figuring out how it will do in theaters is a tough job. Early impressions are drastically different depending on the reviewer and the backlash we’re seeing from Lightyear is unknown as to whether or not it may affect Marvel Cinematic Universe films. Either way, we’ll miss Goldblum and Dinklage. Hopefully we’ll get to witness them and their characters in a future offering!
