This is one of those where you’re just going to have to trust me… I don’t have any references to give you. I’m the first one reporting this. But if you need to see our track record here at That Park Place, we had Encanto’s rise right before anybody else, I had Boba Fett’s ratings readout exclusively before anyone else, and we had Hawkeye’s ratings correct first. None of that is a brag — just context for new readers who wonder why they should listen to this rumor.
Before you get the rumor, here’s a chart to familiarize yourself with. It’s covering the past 30 days of The Book of Boba Fett internet buzz. When this thirty day chart starts covering the past few days (there’s a delay), you’re going to see a massive change. You thought The Mandalorian was popular? Think again. He’s popular. Luke Skywalker is like printing money if you do it correctly. Does this chart correlate exactly to ratings? No. But it’s a great way of gauging interest:
Alright, rumor time:
I’m hearing from some of the same sources that the most recent episode of The Book of Boba Fett (Episode 6) has ratings that will triple any other prior episode for their first 24 hours. Now, I don’t know if that’s being measured in minutes streamed or in episode material watched. But I know there’s big waves behind Disney’s curtains right now as they digest just how popular this version of Luke Skywalker is. He appeared in The Mandalorian and that episode topped everything on any streaming platform in the world. You might think that was a one-off and not repeatable. Disney is now realizing that’s not true. How much some of the executives must now be kicking themselves in realizing they could have been swimming in untold cash had this been the Luke Skywalker that showed up in their movies! I’m not saying that because I want to start a debate… the debate is over. This version of Luke Skywalker shows up and views go astronomical. That’s the lesson.
You want to know how hot Luke Skywalker is in the reporting to me? This episode allegedly beat Encanto in their respective first 24 hours. That’s Encanto, the movie that blew away everything else on Disney+ once it hit streaming.
That’s why when outlets like The Verge say that Star Wars has a “Luke Skywalker Problem“, that’s complete and utter lunacy. You should just laugh at anyone who suggests something so stupid. Disney execs will. It’s like saying the Indiana Jones movies have an Indiana Jones problem.
The market has spoken. The media will catch up later.

Update 2/4 11:46 PM EST
One of the cool things about this article is that as the hours go by, the chart is updating to show what I said would happen. That’s a neat trick we may use again in the future.
