According to Variety, Marvel has hired Matt Corman and Chris Ord to begin development of a Daredevil MCU-connected series for Disney+. Reps for the two alleged executive producers and writers did not confirm the reporting by Variety, nor did Marvel respond to request for comment.

A new “Daredevil” series is moving forward at Disney+, with Variety having exclusively learned from sources that Matt Corman and Chris Ord are attached to write and executive produce.

Rumors have persisted for some time that a Disney+ series about the Man Without Fear was in the works, especially considering that two of the stars of the Netflix “Daredevil” series — Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio — have appeared in recent Marvel projects. Cox once again played Matt Murdock, the secret identity of Daredevil, in the film “Spider-Man: No Way Home,” while D’Onofrio reprised the role of Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, in the Disney+ series “Hawkeye.”

Though this reboot has yet to be formally announced, many outlets are covering this as if the series is confirmed. That seems a step too far. For the sake of sober and accurate reporting, all we have is confirmation that Marvel has hired two individuals from Variety and we assume they have a goal in mind. Jumping to the conclusion that this means a Daredevil show is absolutely on the way is sort of like jumping straight to the conclusion that Rangers of the Republic was a sure thing out of Lucasfilm. Until we get a press release and a launch date, let’s moderate our expectations. Even then, until we get more info there’s no telling where this might go.
