A new rumor claims that DC is developing an animated film based on DC Comics’ The Jurassic League comic book series.

This latest rumor comes from Jeff Sneider at the InSneider who claims the script is being written by Brian Lynch with James Gunn producing.
Lynch does have a solid pedigree. He has a “story by” credit for Puss in Boots and wrote the Minions film. He also wrote Minions: The Rise of Gru as well as The Secret Life of Pets and The Secret Life of Pets 2.

The comic book was written by Juan Gedeon and Daniel Warren Johnson with art by Gedeon, Rafa Garres, and Jon Mikel. It ran for six-issues and was most recently collected in a trade paperback as well as a hardcover.
The idea behind the series was reimagining the Justice League with dinosaurs in an alternate prehistoric universe.

This rumor comes on the heels of Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav teasing that DC Studios CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran were planning to provide an update on their slate of DC Projects over the next few months.
Zaslav said during the company’s most recent earnings call, “James Gunn’s Superman starts filming next week. I’ve had a glimpse into what James and Peter are doing, and it really does serve as an exciting indicator of where the new DC is headed under their leadership. And there’ll be more that you’ll hear from them in the months ahead.”
