Are major overhauls coming to Tomorrowland in one domestic Disney theme park? The original may be up for an update.
Rumors are flying fast and furious all about potential changes coming to the Tomorrowland section of Disneyland in Anaheim, California. From a returned People Mover to a demolished theater, people are chattering quite a bit about changes that could be announced at the next D23 convention.
Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park is set for a huge transformation over the next few years and there has now been a rumor that the iconic PeopleMover could make a return to Disneyland Park.
If the PeopleMover were to return, the rumor is that it will have a “budget conscious” ride system using “widely available ride technology”. The length would also be adjusted to make it shorter. It is not expected that the track would be used which is actually still in place above Autopia and the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage.

As for whether or not any of this will come to pass, we sort of are going with the notion that where there’s smoke there’s fire with this one. If Disney fails to come through with a worthwhile revamp of a relatively abandoned Tomorrowland in Disneyland, it would be a major let-down at this point.
Though, we have to give credit to one user on Twitter who brought a smile to several writers’ faces here:

So maybe we should be a little careful with a source like “dude, trust me.” Ha!
Anyway, if we do get a redo for Tomorrowland, that would be a very cool perk. Here at That Park Place, we don’t have an inside source on this one confirming it one way or another. So even if it does come true, that might mean it’s a little ways off. We’ll see.
