Blizzard Beach is bringing more fun in the sun come October, according to likely rumors, but Typhoon Lagoon may be waving goodbye.

It’s hard not to be disappointed at this news if you’re a huge fan of Typhoon Lagoon. For a number of staff members and writers here, Typhoon Lagoon is practically one of the best waterparks in the world. Sure there are bigger and better attractions out there but when it comes to theming and overall atmosphere, Typhoon Lagoon just cannot be beat. However, at the same time we’re sad to hear that Typhoon Lagoon is going down for refurbishment (please let this be a short amount of time), we’re excited to see the upgrades made to Blizzard Beach during its downtime.

The latest Walt Disney World operating calendar only lists Typhoon Lagoon hours through October 29 2022, with hours for all other parks released through November 5.

A reopening of Blizzard Beach on October 30 would likely see Typhoon Lagoon then close for its annual refurbishment.

The one thing we’ll be searching for via our sources around Walt Disney World is whether or not Typhoon Lagoon will be down for a longer period of time, or whether this is a normal refurbishment. The parts of Disney World which have been primarily sourced by domestic guests have had a harder time reaching capacity… that includes things like the Galactic Starcruiser and the waterparks. Our fear is that Disney might try to run one waterpark at a time. And we sure would miss Typhoon Lagoon!

So what do you think? Are you excited for the return of Blizzard Beach even if it means Typhoon Lagoon is down for a while? Let us know in the comments down below. And as always, keep reading That Park Place for all the latest news that should be fun.
