If you are unfamiliar with George Washington Bridge or G.W. Bridge, he was created by Rob Liefeld and Fabian Nicieza and first appeared in X-Force #1 back in 1991. He was a high ranking member of S.H.I.E.L.D. and worked with Department K to hunt down Cable and his X-Force team. He formed Weapon P.R.I.M.E. that consisted of Weapon X, Grizzly, Rictor, Yeti, and Tygerstrike.

The team would eventually fall apart after a fight with X-Force and discovering that Cable had left the team. Bridge would eventually bury the hatchet and began informing him on S.H.I.E.L.D. operations regarding mutants. However, when Cable’s powers began to rapidly increase, he reformed Six Pack with S.H.I.E.L.D. funding and began to track down Cable. As before he and his team would be defeated and a number of them would join with Cable.

It was announced in June that Esposito had joined the cast of Captain America: Brave New World. Variety reported that Esposito made the announcement during an appearance at CCXP in Brazil.

Esposito made it clear he was not playing Professor X during the appearance, but instead indicated he might be playing a brand new character altogether.

He said, “There’s something about being original. We’ve seen different versions of Professor X. Wouldn’t you like to see me play a character in a Marvel movie who is original, and new, and fresh? So, mark my words: This will happen sooner than you think.”

Following these comments, Murphy’s Multiverse claimed that Esposito would be playing “an antagonistic agent of chaos” and indicated that Esposito’s character was added to the film by writer Matthew Orton who was brought in to rewrite the film’s script.

READ: Anthony Mackie Describes ‘Captain America: Brave New World’ As “Clear Reset” And Claims MCU Conquered “Good Versus Bad” Storytelling

Given the rewrites and the current reshoots it’s not exactly clear what to expect from Captain America: Brave New World. However, actor Anthony Mackie, who plays Sam Wilson in the film, informed Entertainment Weekly, “This movie is a clear reset. It really reestablishes the idea of what this universe is and what this universe is going to be.”

He added, “I think with these movies, you’re getting a clear, new branding of what Marvel is headed towards the same way they did with Captain America: The Winter Soldier.”

Mackie even noted the film’s title, which was changed to Brave New World from New World Order, is evidence of this new direction, “The title implies that there’s a new, bigger enemy now; there’s a new frontier that we have to conquer.”

He explained, “From Captain America: The First Avenger to Endgame, the enemy was always good versus bad. Now that we’ve conquered that, where do we go from here? When the bad guys reappear, in what form are they reappearing? It is a new storyline with new characters, with new beliefs, and it creates a new idea of this new world that we’re going into.”
