Selena Gomez Wizards of Waverly Place Prop Sells for Just $4

The internet is going into a frenzy as actress Selena Gomez has sold an iconic Disney prop from one of her most famous roles for a shockingly low price of $4. But everything is not what it seems…

The prop is Alex Russo’s magic wand from the 2007 hit series, Wizards of Waverly Place, which sent the young actress into super stardom. That makes the low sale price all the more baffling to her fans, with some even calling for the prop to go into a museum instead.

Fans have questioned whether the wand is even the original 2007 Selena Gomez prop or a reproduction she owns. Some even question whether it came from the sequel series, Wizards Beyond Waverly Place that debuted on Disney Channel in 2024. 

The listing from her website simply stated: “Don’t tell Alex Russo, but we have her famous wand for one lucky wizard in-training. Magical powers sold-separately.”

Screenshots showed there was only a single $4 wand up for grabs while the listing was live. But whether this was Russo’s wand or one of several remains unclear.

The wand was a part of a giveaway event Selena Gomez has been hosting. Her campaign ties into the theme of “past, present, and future” from her upcoming Benny Blanco collab album I Said I Loved You First. The event is called 12 Days of Really Rare Stuff and the giveaway counted down to the album’s release on March 21.

“I thought it would be fun to giveaway some “rare” memories that I’ve kept over the years every day until our album comes out,” Gomez said.
