Seth Rogen’s TMNT Trailer Is Suprisingly Good Until April O’Neil

What is it with Hollywood studios taking previously attractive animated women and turning them into something far different?

The latest victim of Hollywood’s DEI initiatives is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Whereas April O’Neil was a beautiful adult female reporter in the original series and future incarnations, Seth Rogen’s newest incarnation of the turtles is far different. Ignoring for a moment the race-swap trend that is honestly becoming boring at this point, April is now young, out-of-shape, unattractive, and dressed in a way that is not impressive. The iconography of the character is stripped away for a replacement that might as well be named something totally new. The character is more inline with Irma from the first cartoon series — a frumpy character who acts more like a sidekick than an awesome lead.

Also, what in the world is going on with the Splinter design in this thing?!
