Tatiana Maslany as She-Hulk and Megan Thee Stallion in She-Hulk: Attorney At Law - Disney+

We’d say it was fun while it lasted… but it wasn’t. Tatiana Maslany, Jennifer Gao, and all the other “lovely” fan-haters for She-Hulk are likely not returning for more.

After a steady dose of attacking the fans, it is beginning to look like the She-Hulk writing team may have been doing so out of spite. For though they have bragged about how “successful” the show has been, it turns out this is likely a one-and-done property. According to lead actress, Tatiana Maslany, She-Hulk is not preparing for a second season in any meaningful way. If it were happening at all, one would think she would know about it. Yet according to her, that’s not being done.

“I mean, I don’t think so, yet. Kevin in the scene seems to be very dismissive of this idea, so, if we’re basing this off of the real Kevin, it doesn’t seem likely. But he was also, I think, just trying to get rid of Jen, because she was asking too many questions… I don’t know. If I could be coy, and have some little secret, I would do that. But, I really don’t. I don’t know anything.”

We could fill one-thousand words with all the vitriol that this writing team, director and actors have pointed towards fans. However, it all seems moot. How much did the team behind She-Hulk already know in terms of a Season 2 being off the table? And if they knew that Season 2 was already gone, perhaps that’s why they were striking out at those who didn’t like what was playing on Disney+? It’s not much fun “trolling the trolls” if you can’t be renewed to keep doing so. And that may also speak to this having been a vanity project rather than appealing to an audience. After a series of delays for multiple Marvel films, it may be that Feige and company are reconfiguring the direction of the franchise.

The revelation that She-Hulk isĀ not being pushed for a second season is also likely why we saw some damage control coming out of big name actors of the last few days. These things don’t happen in a vacuum and forty-year-old plus celebrities don’t willy nilly start recording social media videos for properties they have nothing to do with.

At least in this case, the narrative was defended right up until the point it died with a whimper. She-Hulk is a past tense series until we hear anything different.
