It has not been a good month for celebrity deaths. We have had to say “goodbye” to far too many famous persons, with some of those goodbyes coming far too early in life. Meatloaf will sadly join the list after succumbing to a severe case of the pandemic virus.

“Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. Daughters Pearl and Amanda and close friends have been with him throughout the last 24 hours.”

— Representative Statement for Meatloaf

Born Marvin Lee Aday, the legendary rocker in the top ten for most albums sold had a career spanning six decades. His “Bat Out of Hell” album is considered one of the greatest rock albums of all time. He also was a prolific journeyman in movies and shows including “The Rocky Horror Picture Show,” “Fight Club” and “Wayne’s World,” as well as a very memorable stint on “The Apprentice.”

His daughters put out the following statement following his early passing:

“We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man. We thank you for your understanding of our need for privacy at this time. From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!”

Everyone here at That Park Place extends our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and fans of the amazing star. We hope to not have to say that line soon, but surely Heaven is brighter with someone like Meatloaf ready to rock on there. Rock in Peace!
