There can be no surer way to identify when a company sees a problem with a property than when the company stops working towards it.
Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge has the distinct honor of being the only land to ever open at Disneyland Resort and somehow see a reduction in attendance. It also isn’t exactly the massive success you would hope for in Walt Disney World. Yes, Rise of the Resistance has long wait times, but it also has significant down time as well. Blue milk and green milk aren’t quite the butter beer success they might have hoped for. And the Star Wars Galactic Starcruise that merges with the experience can barely keep reservations filled.

Now, a previously confirmed Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge expansion for Disneyland Paris has been reportedly cancelled. None of the other two planned expansions were nixed… just Galaxy’s Edge. If you’re looking for a mea culpa statement from a global corporation, that’s about as big as it gets.
When asked by the interviewer “The third thematic area mentioned in 2018 concerned the Star Wars universe, but it is no longer mentioned today. Is it still planned?”, Rafalski answered “We are still working on the third theme. We will make announcements about this when we are ready.”

A new Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge was planned in the left-side of this huge Disneyland Paris Resort expansion.
What will become of the large plot of land that was originally planned to go to Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge? Nobody knows at this point. But for those contesting that everything is fine with Star Wars, this may be the first company change — other than a theatrical release pause — that clearly demonstrates otherwise.
