Leslye Headland’s The Acolyte fell off a top 10 chart that tracks viewership data for various streaming originals.

As noted by X user NowItsKnown, data analytics company Luminate released their Streaming Originals: Television chart for the week of June 29 – July 4, 2024, the week that the sixth episode of The Acolyte premiered, and the show is nowhere to be seen on the chart.
The lowest show on the chart, Apple TV+’s Presumed Innocent clocked in at 282 million minutes watched.

It’s unclear what kind of viewership The Acolyte brought in and whether or not the show saw a decline this week or not. The reason being is that Luminate reported last week that The Acolyte only brought in 232.2 million minutes watched.
Given that the lowest show clocked in at 282 million minutes, it is possible that The Acolyte saw its viewership increase. However, this would defy the quickly forming trend of the show.

Luminate Streaming Originals: Television Ratings for the week of June 21-June 27, 2024
The Acolyte only brought in 210 million minutes watched in its premiere week. It ballooned to 380.5 million in its second week. It then saw its minutes watched decline by nearly a third in its third week to 262 million.
As noted and shown above, the show’s fourth week only brought in 232.2 million minutes watched.

Regardless of what the show’s viewership is, it falling off the top 10 charts is not a good sign. Willow, which was also a Lucasfilm production, never charted on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Original Programs list. The series two-episode premiere, which debuted on November 30, 2022, did worse than 10th ranked The Santa Clauses, which had 349 million minutes.
It did not get any better from there. It failed to break into the top 10 in its second week as well. This time however, it had less than Crime Scene: The Texas Killing Fields, which had 289 million minutes viewed. In fact, the series would never chart on Nielsen’s Top 10 Streaming Original Programs list.
The series would eventually be cancelled and then pulled from Disney+ altogether as part of a massive $1.5 billion impairment charge. An SEC filing noted, “On May 26, 2023, the Company removed certain produced content from its DTC services. As a result, the Company will record a $1.5 billion impairment charge in its fiscal third quarter financial statements to adjust the carrying value of these content assets to fair value.”
