Art the Clown will return to theaters in Terrifier 4. Unfortunately, and predictably, several unhinged viewers are already demanding politics be shoved into the film. The director quickly shut them down.

Terrifier creator and writer Damien Leone celebrated his forty-third birthday with a present for his fans: an Instagram post announcing Terrifier 4. The image on the post (which he also shared on X) was the script’s cover page splattered with a little bloodāwhich perfectly fits the slasher theme of the franchise. In the caption, Leone thanked his followers for all of their birthday wishes. He then gave all his fans a present in return.
“The script for Terrifier 4 is under way,” he wrote, “and it is shaping up to be the most epic, horrifying, thrilling, emotional and satisfying conclusion to the Terrifier saga. Iāve personally never been so excited to see one of my own scripts translate to the screen like this one.” Beneath that, he added: “I will finally reveal Artās origin in this entry.”

Some replies to Damien Leone’s Instagram announcement lamented the news that the series is ending. Most replies, though, were full of excitement for the return of Art the Clown. Even Spirit Halloween chimed in, saying “we’re as excited for this as we are for Halloween.”
However, not all fans were excited for the right reasons. Several people driven by politics were demanding Leone insert such into the final movie. In response, Leone held nothing back and quickly shot them down.

“Terrifier is NOT in any way shape or form a political franchise,” he declared in his statement on X. “I did not get into filmmaking to become a politician or promote any political agendas or ideologies, especially through a killer clown movie. I fell in love with horror movies as a form of pure entertainment and those are the films I like to make. Since Terrifier 1, our cast and crew has and still consists of both republicans and democrats and anyone is welcome to be a part of it regardless of their political affiliations as long as they’re a decent human being. That goes for our fan base as well.”
In other words, Terrifier 4 will be completely free of divisive politics and agendasāa welcome treat these days.
In regards to casting, horror news outlet Bloody Disgusting reported that David Howard Thornton and Lauren LaVera, the actors who portray Art the Clown and Sienna Shaw, are expected to reprise their roles for the saga’s final entry.
If true, the fans will be ecstatic to see them again.

The Terrifier franchise has really grown in popularity over the years. The first film graced movie theaters in 2016. In 2022, the sequel helped save the movie industry with the millions it made at the box office. Theaters were still recovering from Covid shutdowns at the time. Many mainstream news outlets kept making up excuses for why so many movies were failing to make a profit. None of them took into account that audiences simply wanted to watch good movies.
Terrifier 2 was one of several films that brought people to the theaters in literal droves. It also made $5.4 million on a $250,000 budget. The indie studio that made the film proved that passion projects can surpass Hollywood. Two years later, Terrifier 3 continued the trend and became the highest grossing unrated film in history.
With the near cult-like following that Art the Clown has, it’s quite likely that Terrifier 4 will surpass all of its forebears. And with the knowledge it will be completely politics-free, it could make a killing.

i didnt know this franchise, and i am a big fan of terror, will take a look at previous movies. Thank god there are still normal person left doing movies just for the sake of having fun and not preaching.
I’m impressed how objective Leone is in his damage control. He knows that Thornton’s TDS will lose him money, but he accepts it. Unfortunately my principle is to not fund people who hate me. This means any project Thornton is attached to will not receive my money.
