That $5,000 Kaiburr Crystal Drink Disney Sells… It’s Waaay More Expensive

Just when you thought five-thousand dollars for a Star Wars drink experience was ludicrous, it turns out we’re just getting started.

Guests aboard the brand new Disney Wish cruise ship have been clamoring to get into the Star Wars themed bar and lounge. But not too many guests are willing to take the plunge with the $5,000 “Kaiburr Crystal” alcoholic beverage that features heavy fog and a strange unlocking ceremony to “open” it. That kind of money for a few sips of liquor is a tough sell — especially when most of the experience is based on your love of Star Wars and presentation.

Usually when you see someone buy the thing, it’s a vlogger or a journalist with money to spend. And now that a few real people have bought the thing, we’re finding out that the actual price is significantly higher than we believed. In fact, real cost is…

$5,900!

The real amount comes as a result of the Hyperspace Lounge charging an automatic gratuity on top of the cost of the actual drink. That additional gratuity is a whopping $900. Whether or not that amount goes directly to the bartender or servers is not fully explained. But if you want a Japanese alcohol that is specifically made with conditions of the atmosphere similar to double the height of Mount Everest, and you want it delivered in Star Wars doohickey, is money really even a consideration?

Hey, if you have the money and you want to spend it this way, who am I to judge? I only think that Mickey Mouse should come out and hug you for this level of expenditure.
