You seldom want to be doing an article on yourself. But in this situation, here we are, stuck telling readers what in the world is going on.
Yesterday was supposed to be a big day for That Park Place, your favorite website for all the news that should be fun. We were debuting a newly redesigned site for both desktop and mobile, we had just acquired a new ad agency to work with us. Everything was juuuust peachy. But boy can things change fast.
First, on the very day that we were supposed to debut the new look, we found out that the major company (one of the top rated) hosting our website was having server issues. We’ve never had any problem before other than a single time when the site crashed for about two hours due to a software problem. But the problem persisted throughout the day and for large parts of it we were unreachable for our readers. That’s a major letdown. Then on top of that, our admin team was busy working on recoding large parts of the redesigned site to try to find a way for the site to still pull up even with such slow download speeds. If you’re reading this article, you may have had to wait longer than usual… and that’s because of those server issues.
Our team was in chat with the server host for about two hours and gained absolutely zero good help or a timetable. Thankfully, we’ve managed to keep That Park Place accessible, even if it is much slower and parts are running from old backup elements, while some other sites on the same host are not able to stay afloat today.
So that was bad enough…
But then when a team member logged into Twitter early this morning, we were met with this screen:

Without any reason provided, Twitter permanently banned That Park Place from their services. We don’t have a tweet flagged, we’ve never had any trouble before and we never post anything that breaks any rules on the platform.
Here’s the message we received from Twitter:
Hello That Park Place,
Your account, ThatParkPlace1 has been suspended for violating the Twitter Rules.
Specifically, for:
Violating our rules against evading permanent suspension.
Note that if you attempt to evade a permanent suspension by creating new accounts, we will suspend your new accounts. If you wish to appeal this suspension, please contact our support team.
Exactly how we evaded rules against permanent suspension when we’ve never even been in the smallest amount of trouble before, who knows? We’ve appealed the decision but there’s no telling how long this will take to be resolved or what they’ll decide.
All of that to say…
We can’t explain what’s happening with the site on Twitter, so we’re writing this article to explain it. We can’t tell you the timetable on when normal speed will return to the website and when we can turn on all our awesome new features we designed. But we can tell you that we’ll be here, continuing to post articles, continuing to highlight videos, continuing to highlight other articles… and doing all of it in spite of anything that is thrown our way.
We’re here to tell the truth about travel, tourism, entertainment, and theme parks. We’ll keep doing it.
For all the latest that should be fun, keep reading That Park Place… even if it takes ten seconds more to load. Drop a comment down below and let us know your thoughts!
