The Minions Are Taking Over Universal Studios Orlando

They’re having a real… good day? The Minions take over Universal Studios theme parks in more than one way.

The minions from the Despicable Me franchise are a little bit like Alvin and the Chipmunks and Steve Urkel. To me, they sort of exist because they have funny voices that children like. I’m sure there’s more to them than that, but there’s not much more. And that’s okay. Because sometimes it’s just enough to listen to garbled multi-linguistic nonsense spoken through computerized falsetto.

Well, if you or your brood are fans of the rotund yellow guys, including the infamous Kevin and Dave, you’re in for a treat if you head to Universal Studios theme parks. Not only is the theme park adding a new Minions attraction in the place of the previous Shrek 3D movie, but they’re now taking over everywhere with photo ops all over the park! It’s time for a marketing campaign to drive interest for the July 1st release in theaters!

I actually remember the first time I came across the minions and it was in Universal Studios Orlando! Someone in a costumed character was bopping around outside the main entrance and I remember thinking, “What in the world is that thing?” Well, there’s no more wondering as the little guys have basically usurped Gru in terms of popularity. So good for the minions and good for their fans! If you’re stopping by Universal Studios Orlando, make sue to get a photo made in one of these eighties-inspired Minion photo ops. And you know what? Maybe the eighties are the only thing hotter right now than the little yellow semi-villains we must all love.
