Thoughts on That Park Place with a Father Son Nature Walk

We seldom discuss the website and pull the curtain back. Let’s do that as you join me for a walk I had this morning I found meaningful.

When is the last time you took a nice long walk with someone you love? It’s important. There’s sufficient suffering and unpleasantness in this world that it can bog you down. But a look at the beauty of nature while having a nice chat with people important in your life is great to rejuvenate you for the long run. It can be a son and father walk, a mother and daughter, maybe it’s a walk with a best friend or an old college buddy you haven’t seen in a long time. Whatever space you can find, I think it’s extremely helpful. It might just be one of the most meaningful things in an otherwise hectic day.

I suppose that’s why we think it’s important enough that we run a website devoted to covering entertainment, leisure, travel and more. It really is something that we need to elevate our lives.

As my son and I were walking, we walked by farmland, through forests, and by a beautiful, scenic river. We discussed That Park Place and its incredible growth over the last year. It’s been a great journey. We had originally thought that we would have an 80/20 split for readership where most of our traffic would be driven by Google News spikes and the rest would be return readership. But it’s been the opposite and still we’re growing with the same trajectory we had hoped for. I’m not even sure how that’s possible except that it’s being driven by word-of-mouth, social media sharing, YouTube referrals and more. Sure, we are on Google News and we get traffic from it — but our return readership is fantastic.

I guess I say all that to say, “thank you.” By coming here every day and checking out our stories, you really are helping us grow. And in growing, we hope to impact the world by talking about entertainment and leisure in a way others often don’t.

There are plenty of rough things in the world and we have to cover some of those things. I talked with my son about those issues today. And yet, I’m hopeful and optimistic. At the macro level, there is plenty to be stressed about. But at the micro level, in my own life, I see potential everywhere. And in the end, if we focus on beauty and loved ones, we’ll wind up okay. Take a look at the awesome photos we took today — and in doing so, you get to join me on a walk from this morning that I found deeply gratifying. I hope you do too.

For all the news that should be fun, keep checking out That Park Place. As always, drop a comment down below and let me know your thoughts! And again, thank you for being a reader. You make a difference just by coming here each day.
