After two years of a pandemic, the first in about a hundred years, we can forgive people for being on edge about diseases and travel. So as we’re hearing news stories about “monkeypox,” it’s no shock that it is concerning some individuals. It’s also no surprise that it is leading to a significant amount of disinformation that might affect the way people plan out their summer trips domestically and globally.
Now we’re not a medical website. Still, we do have two contributors with professional experience in the medical side of things. One of our writers has worked in intensive care hospital settings with medical credentials and college degrees in the area. Another of our staff members is a university professor who has worked with medical researchers and PhD level studies into various medical issues. However, we make no claims in of expertise in the area of monkeypox and we don’t typically cover illness-related issues. In order to do so with a degree of certainty, we turn the issue over to Dr. John Campbell out of the United Kingdom. Dr. Campbell has been an astounding source of information throughout the pandemic and before.
We hope this helps you in identifying what summer activities may or may not be risky behavior for you and your entertainment endeavors. As always, however, if you are at all concerned with issues of disease or injury, seek guidance from your general practitioner. We hope all of you have a doctor you feel you can trust!
