Today marks the first time back at Typhoon Lagoon since the pandemic began, but crowds did not suddenly appear. Instead, the park was reopened to be a sparse group of dedicated fans. Bad weather and cold temperatures made the triumphant return of Disney World’s largest waterpark an experience that few decided to partake.

Meanwhile, Pirates and Princesses has the scoop that Typhoon Lagoon will be closing just one day after its reopening. Even colder temperatures means the park will be off-limits to guests.

And just in case you thought it was all mundane at Typhoon Lagoon’s return, a local youth pastor actually baptized in the Typhoon Lagoon Surf Pool. It might not be the Jordan River, but it’s probably just as cold today (once you come out).
