Steve and our friends at WDWMagic have done a bit of research and discovered that it is very likely that Walt Disney World waterpark, Typhoon Lagoon, is likely to open on January 2nd. This will be the first time the turnstiles at Disney’s largest waterpark have moved since the beginning of the pandemic. Typhoon Lagoon as expected to be the original park reopened, but Blizzard Beach had to fill in once refurbishment of the tropical waterpark was stalled due to a major mishap. The backside of Mount Mayday actually collapsed a bit, which resulted in significant repair needs.

We’ll plan on sending That Park Place staff to Typhoon Lagoon in January to take a look at the park and any improvements that were made during the very long downtime. For now, let us know if you are also planning to go to see Miss Tilly once again!
