Universal Orlando Resort has officially announced that Epic Universe will debut its first major nighttime fireworks spectacular on July 7, giving guests a new reason to stay in the park after dark.
The new show, titled Universal Celestial Goodnight, will transform Celestial Park into a nighttime spectacle featuring synchronized fountains, lighting effects, music, and a fireworks finale designed to cap off a day spent exploring Universal Orlando’s newest theme park. According to Universal, the show will run nightly beginning July 7.
Epic Universe Finally Gets the Nighttime Fireworks Spectacular Guests Have Been Waiting For
One of the most common observations from guests since Epic Universe opened has been the absence of a large-scale nighttime show comparable to Universal Studios Florida’s CineSational: A Symphonic Spectacular. While Celestial Park has featured fountain and lighting presentations, many fans expected the park’s central hub to eventually receive a full fireworks spectacular.
Universal’s announcement confirms those expectations.

According to the company, Universal Celestial Goodnight will immerse guests in a display of dancing fountains, synchronized lighting, nearly 600 lighting fixtures, more than 350 fountains, and a million LED lights spread throughout Celestial Park. The experience will conclude with a fireworks finale illuminating the skies above Epic Universe.
The show is designed as a tribute to the worlds and characters guests encounter throughout the park’s five lands. Universal says visitors will see Celestial Park transformed through music, lighting, water effects, and fireworks as the park transitions from day to night.
A Major Addition for Celestial Park
The announcement is significant because Epic Universe opened without a dedicated nighttime spectacular despite years of speculation that one was planned.
As far back as 2025, Universal representatives indicated the company was still exploring fireworks options for the park. Fireworks testing was observed before the park opened, and multiple reports throughout 2025 and 2026 documented ongoing work on launch areas, lighting infrastructure, and show systems.

Universal also filed a trademark for the name Universal Celestial Goodnight in late 2025, signaling that a major entertainment offering was likely in development. Earlier this month, audio testing for the show was reportedly underway throughout the park.
Those preparations now appear to have culminated in a full-scale nighttime production.
Another Reason to Stay Late at Epic Universe
The addition of Universal Celestial Goodnight helps address one of the few missing pieces in Epic Universe’s entertainment lineup.
The park already offers attractions and themed environments across Celestial Park, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and Dark Universe. A large-scale nighttime spectacular gives Universal a signature closing experience similar to what guests have come to expect from the company’s other Orlando parks and the theme parks of Walt Disney World.

For Universal, the timing also makes sense. Summer crowds are arriving in full force, and a major nighttime offering provides additional value for guests while encouraging them to remain in the park later into the evening.
Beginning July 7, visitors to Epic Universe will finally get the fireworks-filled finale many expected when Universal’s newest theme park first opened its gates.
