Universal Studio Contract Keeps Disney World from Celebrating Black Panther 2

Black Panther Wakanda Forever had a big opening weekend in North America. Yet the domestic Disney Parks are devoid of much fanfare for the newest MCU entry.

There was a time when a new movie out of Disney was accompanied with character meet and greets immediately available. For Black Panther 2, the situation is a little more complicated. Though Disneyland Paris is going all-out for the gender-swapped hero, Disneyland and Disney World have quieter campaigns as they deal with contracts that restrict the Florida resort from featuring Black Panther at all. Still, some had hoped for more since Wakanda itself seems to be free to the Universal contract that locks Black Panther away from Disney World.

Editor’s Note: Disneyland in California still had a number of celebration features for Black Panther, just not as many as one might have expected if both coasts could celebrate together. Thank you to Ian on Twitter for letting us know there was a need for clarification! We listen to our readers.

Disneyland Paris

With “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” being the first Super Hero movie released since the opening of Avengers Campus at Disneyland Paris, this is the perfect opportunity to introduce the world to the next warrior assuming the legendary mantle of Black Panther. Beyond the Campus, the celebration of the new movie will extend to the Hotel New York – the Art of Marvel with a brand new themed photobox at Super Hero Station and new Wakandan-inspired cocktails exclusively at Skyline Bar.

In Hollywood Land at Disney California Adventure park, enjoy dishes inspired by African cuisine and drink offerings at the new Flavors of Wakanda marketplace. If you’re heading to the Downtown Disney District, make sure to strike a heroic pose in front of a special mural created by artist Nikkolas Smith, who previously created the art installation “King Chad.” And with MagicBand+ now at the Disneyland Resort, be sure to show off your style with this limited release “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” themed MagicBand+.
