One of the great wonders of Walt Disney World Resort is the speed and efficiency cast members display on third shift preparing the parks for the next day of operations. Never is that more true than the once-in-a-year tradition of switching Magic Kingdom from Halloween decor to Christmas festivities in just a few hours. It takes a team of time-tested experts to make sure it happens between midnight and dawn the next day!

The result is pure joy as guests arrive only hours after the final Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween ends… and what they find is entirely yuletide fun!

The only real complaint we have here on That Park Place with the changeover continues to be the lack of Dreamlights on Cinderella Castle. The amazing physical twinkle lights have been missing since before the pandemic with no signs of ever returning. In their place, Disney now uses projections, but it’s a very lackluster replacement for what was once the biggest and best reason to see Magic Kingdom in November and December. Here’s to hoping Disney World management will reconsider and put them back up on the castle in the years to come!

So what do you think about the festivities? Are you planning to visit Walt Disney World in the next couple of months? Attendance could be quite low relative to most Novembers until we reach the final week. But from the last seven days of November until New Year’s Day, all eyes are on Disney to see if they can reverse their low crowd blues that have investors quite worried.
