The sixth installment in the Scary Movie franchise has been poorly received by critics and many fans alike. Despite that, it delivered an impressive opening weekend at the global box office. Rather than immediately following that success with another horror spoof, the Wayans brothers have suggested that their next project could be White Chicks 2—and that it could be set at Mar-A-Lago.

Marlon Wayans recently floated the idea during an interview with Variety. He did not suggest that a potential White Chicks 2 would be overtly political. However, the comment is already raising questions, as Mar-A-Lago is famously owned by President Donald Trump.
Mar-A-Lago Could Be the Setting for White Chicks 2
2004’s White Chicks starred Shawn and Marlon Wayans as two black FBI agents who go undercover in the Hamptons disguised as white women. The concept pushed boundaries at the time. While promoting the latest Scary Movie, Marlon Wayans said he wanted to “cancel the cancel culture.” Some fans have argued that the film doesn’t go far enough. By its very premise, however, White Chicks 2 could deliver on that promise.

In the interview, Wayans said, “White Chicks can go anywhere, but Mar-a-Lago and Florida would definitely be a fun place to make that happen and see our girls in that world.”
He went on to suggest that the franchise can work in almost any setting. “White Chicks are like Medea — you can send them to space and they’ll be funny,” he said. “I wanna do A Very White Chicks Christmas. I have a different idea, but we’re discussing. And we’ll find the right place to put them.”
From Paris Hilton to Mar-A-Lago
In the years since its release, White Chicks has become something of a cult classic, earning a reputation as a “so bad it’s good” comedy. The film satirized the pop culture of its era, drawing obvious comparisons to figures like Paris Hilton, who dominated reality television and tabloid headlines at the time.
For a modern-day White Chicks 2, Mar-A-Lago could serve as the next upper-class backdrop after the Hamptons. Ironically, Donald Trump may be one of the few remaining pop culture figures who is instantly recognizable across generations and political divides.
Scary Movie Success Could Open the Door
While White Chicks 2 has not been confirmed, it’s a concept the Wayans brothers have discussed for some time. In February, Marlon Wayans suggested that if Scary Movie was a hit, “we’re gonna dig in the crates and bring back some hits.”

In his weekend box office breakdown, OMB reviews noted that Scary Movie had a modest production budget of around $30 million, meaning it needed $90 million to break even. It opened strongly with $105.5 million worldwide, generating approximately $5.45 million in net profit during its opening weekend alone.
Could White Chicks 2 Finally Happen?
Whether White Chicks 2 ultimately happens remains to be seen. However, the strong opening of Scary Movie gives the Wayans brothers their clearest path to reviving another franchise. If they do move forward, Mar-A-Lago could provide a modern equivalent to the Hamptons setting that helped define the original film.

In an era with fewer shared pop culture touchstones, the location and its connection to Trump may offer exactly the kind of recognizable backdrop that White Chicks has always been built to parody.
