Wild Bison Approved for Future Ecotourism Montana Mega Site

If you’re wanting to see bison in the wild, there may be a new opportunity very soon based on a federal government ruling.

A few days ago, That Park Place covered a controversy in Montana over a private organization, The American Prairie, purchasing thousands of acres of land to convert to prairie wilderness. Today there is an update. According to the same organization, the federal government is reported to having approved the return of wild bison to that same land.

Though farmers and ranchers argue the land is being taken out of production, no statement has been made that we’re aware in regards to wildlife management. There may be overpopulation without predators and we wonder if some hunting may be allowed. If a sustainable and humane system were put in place to keep herd levels in safe numbers, that would seem preferable to many ethicists instead of allowing starvation.

Another key thing we’re following is how the land will be opened to ecotourism as described by the company. Will there be campgrounds? What will the rules be for hikers and explorers? Frankly, we’d love to send a reviewer once it’s available. John Golf can’t wait!
