The controversy surrounding Wings Interactive, an alleged indie game funding group linked to Sweet Baby Inc. (SBI) and Landfall Games, has taken a new turn. In a recent report, Gothic Therapy, hosted by MasterofTheTDS and Writing Raven, revealed a crucial admission from Wings Interactive’s own co-founder, confirming financial backing from Landfall Games.

Shortly after these revelations, Wings Interactive has seemingly gone into full damage control—deleting accounts, scrubbing records, and refusing to answer questions.

Wings Interactive’s Alleged Deception

For months, Gothic Therapy has been investigating Wings Interactive’s true funding sources, uncovering deep connections that contradict the company’s claim of being an independent indie game fund.

Their previous report detailed how:

  • Wings Interactive was registered under a different name (Vingar Interactiva AB) and shared an address with Landfall Games.
  • Landfall Games co-founder Peter Henriksson was also a Vice CEO at Wings Interactive, despite not publicly listing this role.
  • Sweet Baby Inc. CEO Kim Belair previously sat on Wings Interactive’s selection board, raising questions about potential narrative influence in indie gaming.
  • Riot Games contributed $1 million to Wings Interactive in 2021, suggesting a much larger network of industry backing.

These discoveries led Gothic Therapy to assert that Wings Interactive was not an independent funding group but rather a shadow publisher that allowed Landfall Games to exert control over indie development without direct attribution.

The Smoking Gun: Wings Interactive’s Own Co-Founder Speaks

In their latest report, Gothic Therapy uncovered an even bigger revelation—a direct admission from Audrey Leprince, co-founder of Wings Interactive, confirming that Landfall Games bankrolled Wings Interactive in its early days.

In her own words: “This is how I thought about Wings, and I’m like ‘I’m gonna go get the money and give it directly to the to the women to make games.’ Just cut everything else, just focus on that. And I was trying to make it work with women in games in France talking to the French banks and stuff and and it didn’t go very well. And at the same time, Peter from Landfall Studios here
in Sweden was trying to do the same and then we kept bumping into each other and like ‘it’s not working’ and then to do it together and then it started. I got the first investment from Landfall Games and then Riot just also gave us a million dollars to invest in different projects like a few weeks ago or months ago.”

This contradicts prior claims that Wings was an independent fund and suggests that Landfall Games may have used Wings Interactive to discreetly fund and control indie games while maintaining the illusion of separation.

The Ideological Connection: Gamergate and Industry Influence

The Gothic Therapy report also highlights that Wings Interactive’s motivations may have been more than financial. In another statement from a panel featuring Wings Interactive Cassia Curran, the goals of companies like Wings are tied directly to combating GamerGate.

“I don’t think incidents such as GamerGate are really a coincidence,” Curran said, noting that 97% of game investors and 80% of game developers are male. “I think that those kind of in are worn out of the overall industry and content uh that has arisen from these circumstances. So we’re really looking to create a more socially fair and just industry and content and around PC and
consoles.”

Gothic Therapy argues that this proves Wings Interactive wasn’t just funding indie developers but actively shaping game narratives to push an ideological agenda. They claim that Wings Interactive was using its funding power to influence game content under the guise of supporting “marginalized” creators.

Wings Interactive’s Disappearance from the Internet

Following these revelations, Wings Interactive has systematically erased its online presence.

Gothic Therapy reports that:

  • Wings deleted its X account for a time before returning.
  • Its TikTok and BlueSky accounts have been removed.
  • Its official Instagram has been set to private.
  • Employee names, board members, and selection committee members have been scrubbed from the website.
  • News articles and gaming pages, including a connection to Netflix Games, have been removed.

This mass deletion has only fueled further speculation that Wings Interactive is hiding something, rather than being transparent about its operations.

The Game Bakers and Government Grants

As part of their investigation, Gothic Therapy has also uncovered ties between Audrey Leprince and government-funded game projects. Leprince co-founded The Game Bakers, an indie studio that received financial support from the French government. Additionally, she sits on multiple funding boards that distribute government grants to video games.

Gothic Therapy raises an important question: Did Wings Interactive also receive government-backed funding?

While they acknowledge that definitive proof is lacking given the companies attempts to scrub the internet of itself, the rapid disappearance of records suggests someone does not want these questions answered.

Convenient Timing: The “Games With Wings” Sale

Another suspicious move noted by Gothic Therapy is the timing of Wings Interactive’s re-emergence on social media, right before launching their annual “Games With Wings” sale. This is an event promoting games from female developers.

Gothic Therapy argues that this was a strategic move to shift the conversation away from their funding sources and back toward a feel-good indie showcase.

“They were off social media until a couple days before this event because this became more than just about selling games—it became about controlling the narrative.” MasterofTheTDS said.

Final Challenge to Wings Interactive

Gothic Therapy ends their report with a direct challenge to Wings Interactive and Sweet Baby Inc., urging them to address these findings rather than hide.

“If you had nothing to hide, all you would need to do is address the claims,” MasterofTheTDS said.

He makes it clear that deleting online traces and avoiding transparency will not stop the investigation. With archived records and ongoing scrutiny, Gothic Therapy promises to continue exposing the truth about the financial and ideological connections shaping indie gaming.

The situation surrounding Wings Interactive has escalated significantly. What was once a quiet indie fund is now at the center of an industry-wide controversy, with accusations of hidden financial backers, ideological influence, and a coordinated cover-up.

With Wings Interactive refusing to engage in meaningful dialogue and instead choosing to scrub its existence, the controversy is unlikely to die down anytime soon. Gothic Therapy has vowed to continue investigating, ensuring that gamers and developers alike can make informed decisions about the forces shaping the gaming industry.

Bunny With A Keyboard

Gothic Therapy continues doing the work of the Almighty.

Mad Lemming

Wings Interactive must have some pretty big skeletons in their closet to go this far. Too bad for them the Internet is forever. All their original posts, pages, and public records are still out there in the digital ether. It’s just a matter of time before it comes back to haunt them like the Telltale Heart.

MasteroftheTDS

Glad to be of service *tips hat*

Bunny With A Keyboard

Thank you, and may God bless you both.

The lesson of DEI seems to be this. If the CEO is not white, male, straight, and conservative, then the organisation is bent and incompetent.

Bunny With A Keyboard

It’s just if they’re conservative. Rippa shows that it has nothing to do with race, as do plenty of people in Japan. There have been plenty of talented women as well.

I can see why you’d make that conclusion regarding white and male, but it’s part of the poison of their identity politics.

You want more women making games doing dev work fine no problems when they make something worth playing and can support the company with great ideas. “Bingo” a self funded company. Throwing money at idiots with terrible ideas and then sucking there dicks with praise will not empower these people. Great ideas can make a great product. But also sometimes fail. For the past 40 years men and women made games together. Talent shines through idiots are usually the downfall of a company.

Roberta Williams was fantastic and it saddens me deeply how she’s been more or less forgotten the same way Blade was erased to push the lie Black Panther was the first black Marvel character.

FRISH

Unfortunately women have inherent value. Men are the ones that need to prove their worth. Unless they identify as women of course, then somehow they’re above even women.
