Yellowstone and 1883 have had a lot of rumors flying around in terms of Season 5 and Season 2, respectively. Yellowstone has become Paramount Network’s gem. According to K.L. Connie Wang of TV Today “it was the number one series across broadcast, cable and premium, with 11 million viewers tuning in for the season 4 finale.”

More from K.L. Connie Wang

“Yellowstone continues to shatter records with more than 11 million viewers tuning into the season finale, proving we’ve hit a cultural nerve—from the center of the country to each of the coasts—and still have lots of room to grow on linear,” said Chris McCarthy, President and CEO, ViacomCBS Media Networks. “Our strategy to franchise Yellowstone into a universe of series to fuel growth for Paramount+ is already exceeding expectations with 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown proving to be two of the top titles.

Is there a Yellowstone season 5 release date?

Due to the pandemic and production restrictions across the nation, filming for season 4 was delayed and ultimately the show’s fourth season did not premiere until November 2021 but that doesn’t mean we’ll have a wait a full year for more Yellowstone! Paramount Network announced in mid-February that season 5 will air in two installments—the first premiering as early as this summer! This last part is exciting news for Yellowstone fans knowing we could possibly be getting our Yellowstone fix as early as summer.

According to Warren Elliott of Screen Rant:

Yellowstone Season 5 Will Be Longest Yet & Split Into Two Parts

Yellowstone season 5 will be the longest for the series to date, with 14 episodes, and split into two parts, the first of which will air this summer. Created by Taylor Sheridan, the series stars Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Gil Birmingham, and Ryan Bingham. The series concluded its fourth season on January 2, 2022, and has produced 39 episodes to date, all of which have been written or co-written by Sheridan.

1883 News

This is not the kind of news I was hoping to hear. However, I totally understand with all of the irons in the fire for Taylor Sheridan. According to Lauren Hubbard of Town and Country:

On February 15, 2022, before the show wrapped up its run, Paramount+ announced that it had ordered more episodes of 1883. However, a climactic season finale that saw the deaths of many of the show’s most prominent characters—including the narrator Elsa Dutton (Isabel May) and wagon train leader Shea Brennan (Sam Elliott), not to mention most of the wagon train itself—has left many scratching their heads as to what exactly those new episodes might entail.

Adding to the confusion, 1883 creator and writer Taylor Sheridan told Deadline following the finale that, “We wanted to make a 10-hour movie that ended, and that’s what we did,” adding, “For me, as a storyteller it feels close ended. I’m going to peek through the window of a different era and see what I see then.”

Nooooooooo!!!!! Please no, Mr. Sheridan. I’m literally sick.

Thank you all for reading. Leave me a comment on your thoughts.

Be blessed and happy streaming!!!
