A Marvel insider claims that Ghost Rider will appear in Marvel Studios upcoming Avengers: Secret Wars film.

This rumor comes from scooper ThwipT_ who shared on X, “Ghost Rider will be in Secret Wars.”
As can be seen below, his post comes in response to concept art that shows Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider and Ben Affleck’s Daredevil for Deadpool and Wolverine.

Given this rumor, it is possible that despite seemingly scrapping Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and moving forward with Avengers: Doomsday before Avengers: Secret Wars some of the ideas that have been rumored for The Kang Dynasty might still be put to use.
Scooper MyTimeToShineHello recently claimed that Marvel was planning to have Nicolas Cage’s Ghost Rider appear in The Kang Dynasty. He detailed at the beginning of this month, “In this film, the TVA began gathering Anchor Beings from across the Multiverse, believing they are the only ones powerful enough to defeat the Council of Kangs. Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield were the Anchors for their respective realities, while Tom Holland’s Spider-Man served as the Anchor for Earth-616.”
“The movie was intended to be smaller in scope compared to SECRET WARS, focusing more on Holland’s Peter Parker, Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, and other Anchors like Nic Cage’s Ghost Rider,” the scooper continued. “The plan was for all of them to ultimately fail, leading to the collapse of the Multiverse and Kang’s creation of Battleworld. This would then set the stage for SECRET WARS, where other MCU characters and additional Multiverse figures would converge on Battleworld.”

In fact, ThwipT_ previously claimed in May, “The Defenders will appear in Avengers: Secret Wars” while sharing a photo from the Netflix series. However, it is possible it could be a variation that includes Affleck’s Daredevil.

As for whether or not this Ghost Rider will be the one played by Nicolas Cage, it’s unclear despite the concept art claiming it was Cage’s Johnny Blaze.

While there have not been any announcements, Cage spoke about a possible return in an interview with Uproxx in December 2023 where he appeared to indicate he’s open to returning to the character.
He told the outlet, “I’m saying if something came along that I thought had some pop to it, some spark to it, that maybe could be fun for folks to revisit, like a Face/Off 2 or Ghost Rider, that’s another conversation. But I mean, that’s not going out and finding a brand new bit of material and trying something else. I’m still developing my ideas about all this. Who knows what will really happen?”
