In the theme park industry, delays are inevitable. Time tables are always being pushed back by construction issues, pay disputes, or even some of Central Florida’s infamous hurricanes. So it’s rare for anything new, let alone a new theme park, to actually debut early. Universal has accomplished this with its brand new, state of the art Epic Universe, which will officially open to the public on May 22, 2025.

Initially, it was believed that Universal’s projections for a spring opening were far-fetched, with many theme park insiders and reporters anticipating a summer debut for Orlando’s newest theme park. But it looks like Epic Universe will be bursting onto the scene just in time for Memorial Day Weekend!

“With the addition of this spectacular new theme park, our guests will embark on an unforgettable vacation experience with a week’s worth of thrills that will be nothing short of epic!” said Karen Irwin, COO of Universal Orlando Resort in a statement to the press. “Our Universe will never be the same.”

Epic Universe promises to be an unforgettable experience, with five themed lands that include:

  • Celestial Park
  • Super Nintendo World
  • How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk
  • Dark Universe (A Universal Classic Monsters themed land)
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic

At the far end of the park will be the Helios Grand Hotel, a massive resort destination with its own private entrance into Epic Universe.

READ: Universal Studios Will NOT Sell Single Day Epic Universe Tickets At Opening

Tickets will go on sale for Epic Universe for the general public on October 22. However, it should be noted that single day tickets won’t be available. Instead, Universal will only sell Epic Universe tickets as part of a three to five day ticket package, only one day of which will be dedicated to Epic Universe. T

The rest will be split between Universal Orlando’s other theme parks, Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure, as well as its water park, Volcano Bay.

This strategy effectively controls crowds and at the same time stops Disney vacationers from making Epic Universe a one-day stop on their Walt Disney World trip. It actually forces them to split the week between Disney and Universal if they want to experience all the epic at Epic Universe.

These three-day tickets will range in price from $352 to $521, depending on the dates. When you break it down, that ends up being a whopping $118 to $174 per park, per day, per person.

Universal Orlando Passholders will be the only ones allowed to buy single day tickets to the new park, which will feature special pricing. Those tickets will go on sale on October 24, 2025 and will be available while supplies last.
