Few were looking forward to visiting Epic Universe more than Universal Orlando annual passholders. The ability to travel to worlds of Nintendo, Harry Potter, the Dark Universe, How To Train Your Dragon, and more any time they wanted was a huge drawing point for those who spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars every year to get constant access to Universal’s other offerings.

But it seems as though Universal will be keeping annual passholders out of Epic for the time being, with an announcement that hit passholder email boxes this morning.
“On October 24, Passholders will have the exclusive opportunity to purchase single-day admission before it goes on sale to the general public,” Universal said in the email, confirming the worst fears of many that the new park would not be included in any annual pass tiers. “Allocated ticket quantities per day will be available just for Passholders.”
They then go on to note that to participate in this offer, guests must link their annual passes to their Universal Account Wallets in the Universal Orlando app for the easiest purchase experience.
The Comcast-owned company also noted that there would be soft opening opportunities for Passholders at Epic Universe prior to the park’s May 22, 2025 opening date. They said in the email that information on that will be available in the coming months.

Universal annual passes are structured around the number of parks a passholder has access to. For example, a two park annual pass includes access to both Universal Studios and Islands of Adventure. A three-park pass throws Universal’s Volcano Bay water park into the mix as well.
Because of this, no one ever thought the company would include Epic Universe for no additional cost. However, it was believed by many that a new annual pass tier would roll out featuring the new park for a higher price. However, it seems that at least for now, that’s not to be.
