Captain America: Brave New World has hit the box office and now it’s time to decide, is it worth your time?

Captain America: Brave New World is shaping up to be one of the most controversial Marvel movies in recent memory. From production nightmares to marketing scandals and political blowback, this film has faced more obstacles than any superhero should.
The trouble started with disastrous test screenings that reportedly left audiences cold, forcing Disney to order 22 days of expensive reshoots. These reshoots included the last-minute addition of Giancarlo Esposito as a new villain and chaotic revisions to key action scenes. Insiders from the set described the production as a mess, with Harrison Ford, who plays President Thaddeus Ross/Red Hulk, being notoriously difficult to work with.

Adding to the chaos, the film’s original title, Captain America: New World Order, sparked backlash as well for its political undertones. Disney changed the title to Captain America: Brave New World to avoid further controversy. However, that didn’t stop the film from being politicized. The character of Red Hulk, a military leader turned rampaging monster, has drawn comparisons to Donald Trump, fueling political arguments that Disney is desperately trying to distance itself from.

Meanwhile, star Anthony Mackie managed to ignite controversy on the press tour by stating, “Captain America represents a lot of different things, and I don’t think the term ‘America’ should be one of those representations.” The backlash was swift, with critics accusing him of misunderstanding the character’s patriotic roots. Mackie attempted to walk back his comments, but his clarification fell flat, adding more fuel to the fire.

Why should I make jokes here? Why should I put in effort when the people desecrating the work of great men like Stan Lee won’t put in effort?
Sam Wilson is a terrorist sympathizer. It would have been better to let Walker keep the shield; I’d rather a terrorist killer than a terrorist sympathizer. Better still to give it to Bucky. Better still not to pass it on at all.
What more needs to be said? The woke…hate it. Access media…hates it. Normies…hate it. Absolutely everybody hates this film. It’s set a new low that Dirt Brown and the Seven Portland Baristas is going to have to work extra hard to surpass.
