Walt Disney World has a massive construction wall problem, with large sections of the park under maintenance or construction. This has closed off large sections of three out of the four Walt Disney World parks. Most recently, additional construction walls have popped up in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios has become increasingly dotted with construction walls as the park embarks on multiple transformation projects. In the past week, additional construction walls have been installed near Savi’s Workshop in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge and along the walkway leading from Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge into Toy Story Land, indicating ongoing work in the area.
The exact nature and purpose of this specific construction remain unspecified, as Disney has not provided official details.
Construction Developments Near Savi’s Workshop
The installation of these construction walls in Galaxy’s Edge suggests that the work may be related to infrastructure improvements or enhancements to the Disney World guest experience in this section of the park.

Some changes are visible from guests areas, including a removal of concrete. Considering the space is not large, the construction could be routine maintenance or a small-upgrade. However, without official confirmation, the specific objectives of the construction remain speculative.
Seating Expansion at Toy Story Land Entrance
At the entrance to Toy Story Land, additional construction walls have appeared, particularly around the area formerly occupied by stroller parking. This development has led to speculation that Disney may be expanding seating options to accommodate guests more comfortably. The presence of these walls indicates that construction is underway, but the exact details and timeline of the project have not been disclosed by Disney.

Previously, in October 2024, Disney had announced an expansion project for Woody’s Lunch Box, aiming to increase seating capacity. At that time, the entire seating area was closed to guests as crews worked on installing new concrete throughout the space. A temporary seating setup was arranged at the entrance to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, offering tables with umbrellas to provide guests with an alternative during the closure.
The recent appearance of construction walls near the Toy Story Land entrance may be a continuation or a new phase of this seating expansion project. However, without official confirmation from Disney, the specifics of the current work remain unclear.
Existing Construction Already Underway in Hollywood Studios
This adds to the construction walls already at Disney Hollywood Studios.
Themed construction walls already enclose the pathway to Muppet*Vision 3D, PizzeRizzo, and Mama Melrose’s, which all closed on June 7, 2025, ahead of the new Monsters, Inc.‑themed land. In the same vicinity, concept art has been displayed on new walls. These visuals offer previews of Monstropolis, the door vault roller coaster, Harryhausen’s (formerly Mama Melrose’s), and the Monstro—or “The Glob”—theater.

Overall, across Disney’s Hollywood Studios—and throughout Walt Disney World—construction walls are increasingly prevalent as multiple areas undergo refurbishment, re‑theming, or new development. Visiting the parks right now means a lot of construction zones, almost wherever you go.
Magic Kingdom: Frontierland and Main Street in Transition
Construction has also escalated at Magic Kingdom, especially in Frontierland. Walls now encircle much of the former Rivers of America, extending past the Haunted Mansion queue and reaching into Frontierland.

Tom Sawyer Island and the Liberty Square Riverboat have closed as preparations for the Cars‑themed Piston Peak National Park development are underway. Water has been drained from the river, and props from Tom Sawyer Island are being tagged for removal.
Animal Kingdom: DinoLand USA Reimagining
In Animal Kingdom, phase one of construction to transform DinoLand U.S.A. into a new Tropical Americas-themed land has begun. Walls now surround Dino-Rama attractions. The Boneyard play area closed this week, with construction walls going up near the entrance to DinoLand. The DINOSAUR attraction will be staying open through 2025.

Backstage areas adjacent to DinoLand have been cleared. Crews are removing the wall separating the land from backstage zones in preparation for the new Pueblo Esperanza area that will include both the Encanto attraction and a reimagined Indiana Jones ride. The new land is scheduled to open in 2027.
What do you think of all the construction walls popping up at Disney World? Is it too much all at once? Or is it necessary to keep up with competitors? Let us know your thoughts in the comments?
