It appears the tension between Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot has entered a new chapter, and this time, it’s playing out where celebrities send their loudest quiet messages: Instagram.

As of today, a manual review shows that Rachel Zegler has unfollowed Gal Gadot on Instagram — a move that comes after months of strained public optics between the Snow White co-stars.

This development drops right into a long-running feud fueled by their very different political positions, particularly surrounding the conflict in the Middle East. And yes — that infamous social media moment from Zegler is directly relevant here.

Back in 2024, Zegler signed off one of her posts promoting the Snow White trailer with the line, “and always remember, free Palestine.”

That statement placed her (and the Disney film she and Gadot were starring in) firmly within a heated online discourse. It effectively drew a line between her message and the stance of Gadot, who is both Israeli and openly supportive of Israel.

Gadot has spoken about her homeland and her family’s safety many times over the years, particularly during periods of rising tension. Because of the contrast between their positions, observers have kept an eye on the pair’s dynamic ever since.

And there’s more history here than many remember.

Disney Reportedly Increased Security for Gadot After Threats

Following Zegler’s political post, the situation escalated enough that Disney provided additional security for Gal Gadot and her family due to a surge of threatening messages directed at her.

This was part of a broader pattern of intense reactions surrounding the live-action Snow White film and the ways in which real-world conflicts spilled over into celebrity spaces.

The two actresses may have played together on screen and at awards shows, but off camera, the relationship was already being described as fractured. PEOPLE Magazine reported around the time of the film’s release through a production-adjacent source that, “They are not friends … they have nothing in common.”

That’s certainly not the kind of behind-the-scenes energy Disney hoped for when promoting one of its flagship live-action remakes.

Then came another eyebrow-raising moment: when Zegler posted a cast appreciation photo for Snow White, Gadot was conspicuously absent, prompting online speculation long before this unfollowing.

The Instagram Unfollow: Small Button, Big Signal

Now we arrive at the newest breadcrumb — one that fans didn’t miss.

A direct check today confirms that Zegler no longer follows Gadot’s Instagram account.

Social media behavior may not always be definitive proof of conflict, but let’s be honest: in modern celebrity communication, the unfollow button is the closest thing Hollywood has to an official “we’re done here.”

It may be a quiet signal, but it’s a loud one nonetheless.

Given the political divide, the escalating tension from last year, the public statements, and the alleged on-set coldness, this unfollow fits naturally into a larger narrative. Whether Zegler did it intentionally or simply cleaned up her following list isn’t something her team has addressed — but the timing is impossible to ignore.

It should be noted that Gadot, as of this writing, still follows Zegler.

What Comes Next?

With Disney’s live-action Snow White going down in history as a complete box office failure and both actresses moving on to other projects, it’s unlikely either side will publicly acknowledge the shift. But fans are already dissecting every move, and the divide between the two stars seems wider than ever.

For now, the Rachel Zegler Gal Gadot Instagram situation serves as another reminder of how much Hollywood relationships can be shaped — or broken — by the real-world beliefs of the people involved.

Please, please, let Gal Gadot respond to this child. Grist for the mill, am I right? But I expect Gadot could put her in her place, she just has to use small words, like the ones she uses with her own toddler children.

Maybe then Rachel could understand the damage she’s done to herself and her career.

On the other hand, Gadot doesn’t have much to be proud of either. She participated in that debacle and, by all accounts, sucked. Better for both of them to drop off the face of the earth for a few more years.

I’m so tired of the plight of the jews vs. the muslims being played out like n the middle of the largest Christian country in the world. Can they both lose?

[Clown A] unfollows [Clown B] on [Social Media App] is news now, huh?

Mr0303

Let them fight – they are both awful.

Remember, in Snow White, both actresses were awful, and both are DEI, and both were race-swapped from white-Northern-European. That Disney decided to pitch a “Save Palestine” virtue-signalling activist nutjob against a Zionist Jewess is pretty wild. What could possibly go wrong? 😆
