Disney Employee Walkout Group Blames Calls for Boycott on “White Supremacists”

That Park Place is not a political website. We take no official position in regards to any political movement or policy. We are covering this topic out of necessity because of the implications on an entertainment corporation that runs theme parks. We would much rather be covering the new brunch items inside the Beast’s Castle at Magic Kingdom.

The Disney Walkout organization which worked to orchestrate a protest in early March featuring Disney employees has come out with particularly negative assessments of the Burbank protests from yesterday. In those protests, individuals seemed to advocate for a Disney boycott and were negative towards the goals which the Disney Walkout group has advocated for.

Why it matters:
The Disney Walkout organization has been determined to include individuals from The Walt Disney Company leadership and thus is not your run-of-the-mill grassroots organization inside a company. See the statement below:

The TWDC LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council, made up of BERG leadership, and those within the Disney Walkout movement would like to address our coworkers together.

You may recall that the LGBTQIA+ Advisory Council has had its members used in parts of the Reimagine Tomorrow “listening sessions” that were leaked by independent journalist, Christopher Rufo. Here’s Nadine Smith who is an activist partner:

So when the Disney Walkout group provides statements via Twitter, we now know that they have membership from persons of significant power in The Walt Disney Company. Thus, when the organization claims that white supremacy is to blame for protesters against Disney, that may have some reflection on leadership’s non-public thoughts. If not, Disney needs to disentangle from the organization and make a public statement that they are not representative of the company. Here are the tweets from Disney Walkout that one might find interesting:

And if you think all of this is just about equality, equity, legislation in Florida, etc… and that it is divorced from politics (i.e. Disney is taking a moral, not political stand), just remember one of Mrs. Nadine Smith’s recent tweets:

It’s all political and that’s the problem.

For all the news that should be fun, but clearly has been taken over by politics, keep checking out That Park Place. We hope to get to actually cover park stuff soon rather than all of this muck that Disney is dragging us trough. Feel free to drop a comment down below.
