Taylor Swift may be done with Blake Lively, but it seems as though the Gossip Girl star isn’t done dragging her former bff into her reputation shattering legal battles. And somehow, a cookie recipe is now headed to trial.
As Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni prepare to face off in court next month over their escalating dispute tied to It Ends With Us, newly surfaced filings reveal that Taylor Swift has once again been pulled into the mess. Only this time, it’s not just her name—it’s her baking.
Taylor Swift’s Name Appears in Jury Selection
According to court documents reviewed by Page Six, Swift’s name is now part of the jury selection process.
Potential jurors may be asked: “Do you know any of the following people that you may hear from or about over the course of the trial?”

That list includes Swift alongside a lineup of high-profile names tied to Lively, including Ryan Reynolds and other It Ends With Us figures.
So even if Swift has nothing directly to do with the case, her celebrity orbit alone is now a factor in deciding who sits on the jury.
The Cookie Recipe That Made This Even Stranger
If that wasn’t odd enough, Baldoni’s legal team is now calling out what they describe as an overstuffed—and largely irrelevant—pile of evidence submitted by Lively.
Among the items?
A Taylor Swift cookie recipe article.
Baldoni’s attorneys argued the materials included in Lively’s filing have: “limited relevance or practical value.”

They went even further, stating: “It is exceptionally unlikely Lively would show such materials, or that the jury would gain any insight from them.”
In other words, the defense is openly questioning why something like a cookie recipe is even being considered in a case like this.
A Growing List of Questionable Evidence
The cookie recipe wasn’t the only thing raising eyebrows.
According to the filing, Lively submitted 68 separate exhibits, including:
- Photos of herself with Swift
- A speech referencing Ryan Reynolds’ abilities as a father
- Various celebrity-adjacent materials

Baldoni’s legal team has now requested additional time to review what they described as a “voluminous overbreadth” of evidence.
That’s legal speak for: there’s a lot here—and not all of it belongs.
Trial Moves Forward After Major Legal Shift
This all comes after a significant development earlier this month.
Thirteen of Lively’s claims against Baldoni were dismissed, leaving just three remaining:
- Breach of contract
- Retaliation
- Aiding and abetting retaliation

The two sides are expected to go to trial in May after settlement talks broke down.
Reports Suggest Swift Distancing Herself From Lively
While Taylor Swift has not publicly commented on being pulled into the case, reports suggest the situation may have strained her relationship with Lively.
A prior report from That Park Place indicated Swift may have distanced herself as the legal drama has escalated, effectively “ghosting” her one time friend despite Blake’s “groveling excuses.”

If accurate, it wouldn’t be surprising.
The case against Baldoni has been devastating for Lively’s reputation. Swift, one of the most popular and successful pop stars on the planet, likely wants none of that drama around her.
When Celebrity Spillover Goes Too Far
At this point, the Blake Lively Taylor Swift connection has gone from celebrity crossover into something far more unusual.
It’s a sordid affair covering A-list friendships, jury vetting, legal filings, and now baked goods.

Whatever the strategy behind these filings, it’s raising serious questions about relevance—and potentially dragging high-profile names into a situation they were never meant to be part of.
Because when your legal case starts involving cookie recipes and unrelated celebrities, you’re no longer just arguing facts—you’re creating noise.
