Universal Orlando Resort appears to be testing a “open hub” access model for Celestial Park at Universal Epic Universe as part of a recently announced third-party event. Recent developments suggest the company may allow limited entry into the park’s central hub area without requiring full theme park admission.

The discussion around the Epic Universe Celestial Park open hub concept began after guests noticed photo validation scanners near several portal entrances inside the park. Universal has tested systems capable of separating access between Celestial Park and the larger themed lands connected to it.

The Event

Premiere Orlando, a beauty industry convention scheduled for late May and early June 2026, recently announced that attendees will receive complimentary evening admission to Celestial Park. The offer includes access to dining, shopping, and live entertainment inside the area. Complimentary self-parking after 5 p.m. is also included.

This appears to be the clearest public example so far of Universal operating the central Epic Universe hub separately from the rest of the park during normal operating hours. Universal has not publicly explained how attractions inside Celestial Park would function during these events. Fans are interested to see if those attending the conference will be able to ride Constellation Carousel or Stardust Racers.

Celestial Park’s Potential

Many describe Celestial Park as the “world between worlds” inside Epic Universe. The area acts as the gateway to the park’s themed lands, which include Super Nintendo World, Dark Universe, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, and How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk.

The possible open-hub structure has generated discussion throughout the theme park industry. Some observers believe the model could increase restaurant traffic and encourage more local visits. Hotel guests could also gain easier evening access to dining and entertainment options inside the park.

Others have raised concerns about crowd flow and the overall guest experience. Some industry watchers question whether broader public access could alter the atmosphere inside the central park area.

At this stage, Universal has not announced broader public access plans beyond the conference event. The company also has not confirmed whether separate pricing options or partial-day admission models are under consideration.

Still, the recent testing and conference promotion indicate that Universal is exploring greater operational flexibility inside Epic Universe. The existing photo validation infrastructure appears capable of supporting selective access between Celestial Park and the surrounding lands.

For now, the Premiere Orlando event remains the strongest public sign that Universal is experimenting with the Epic Universe Celestial Park open hub concept. Whether the company expands the model beyond convention-related events remains unknown.
