A new fan-produced film inspired by Disney’s Star Tours attraction has premiered on YouTube. The project includes participation from former Walt Disney Imagineering executives Tony Baxter and Tim Delaney.
Star Tours Last Launch Fan Film Focuses on Original Attraction
The production centers on the original version of the Star Tours attraction, which first opened at Disneyland in 1987. According to the filmmakers, the story follows an intercepted transmission between Star Tours and the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. The Star Tours Last Launch fan film draws heavily from the look and setting of the original attraction.

The English-language version of the Star Tours Last Launch fan film includes voice performances from actor Lee Arenberg, along with Scott Chernoff and Dan Madsen. The movie was originally produced in French before the English dub released online.
How the Star Tours Last Launch Fan Film Was Made
The filmmakers used a mix of live-action production, practical set elements, and computer-generated imagery to complete the film. Production combined staged interior sets with digitally created environments for space and exterior sequences. Visual effects were used to extend physical sets and integrate spacecraft and background elements into the scenes.
The film’s description on YouTube highlights that they did not use any AI in the making of the film.
Fan Film Released Through YouTube
The filmmakers have shared trailers, production updates, and behind-the-scenes videos through the project’s online channels and website. The official Instagram account describes the Star Tours Last Launch fan film as a “no profit fan film” based on the Disneyland attraction.
The release comes as Disney continues to update Star Tours attractions at its parks. In recent years, Disney and Lucasfilm have added destinations and characters tied to newer Star Wars films and streaming series. The original attraction remains an important part of Disney park history because it marked one of the company’s earliest major collaborations with Lucasfilm.
