For many visitors, cinnamon bread has become one of the foods most closely associated with Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. The sweet pull-apart loaf is baked fresh throughout the day at the park’s historic Grist Mill and is typically served with buttercream icing or apple butter. For years, travelers could only buy Dollywood cinnamon bread by entering the theme park.
That is no longer the case.
Visitors can now buy Dollywood cinnamon bread without purchasing admission to the theme park with the opening of Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop in Cornersville, Tennessee. The 24-hour travel stop now offers the cinnamon bread as part of its food selection, giving travelers another way to purchase the item outside Dollywood itself.
The Original Home of Dollywood’s Cinnamon Bread
Dollywood’s Grist Mill in Craftsman Valley remains the original home of the bread. According to the park, the mill opened in 1982 and was the first fully operational grist mill built in Tennessee in more than 100 years. Today, guests can still watch employees prepare the bread throughout the day while the mill continues grinding grain on site.
The park also has a second location for cinnamon bread at the Spotlight Bakery near the entrance to the park.

Reports about Dollywood’s cinnamon bread have noted that the park sells more than 210,000 loaves each year. Production begins early each morning to meet demand, especially during festivals and other busy seasons.
Although the Grist Mill remains the best-known location, guests can also buy the bread at Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort and Spa and Dollywood’s HeartSong Lodge & Resort. Visitors do not need a theme park ticket to enter these resort markets. They can stop by and purchase a loaf directly from the grab-and-go food locations.
At Dollywood’s DreamMore Resort, the bread is available at DM Pantry. At HeartSong Lodge & Resort, it is sold at Songbird Market. Both locations offer the same signature loaf served inside the park. Resort guests may also order the bread through in-room dining or other resort food services, depending on availability.
A New Option for Travelers
Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop operates as a roadside destination with food, shopping, fuel services, and other traveler amenities. The location includes a coffee shop, restaurant, barbecue options, and a general store, along with the cinnamon bread sold as part of its food offerings.

The new location gives visitors more flexibility. Travelers passing through the area can stop for a loaf without purchasing a Dollywood admission ticket or making the trip to Pigeon Forge.
What Makes Dollywood’s Cinnamon Bread So Popular
The bread is made from yeast dough that is cut, coated with cinnamon and sugar, baked until golden, and served warm. Guests can choose buttercream icing or apple butter for dipping. At the Grist Mill, visitors can watch much of the preparation process, making the bakery experience part of the attraction.
Guests who choose to buy Dollywood cinnamon bread inside the park should be prepared for possible wait times. The Grist Mill is one of Dollywood’s busiest food locations, especially during weekends, holidays, and seasonal festivals. Lines often stretch outside the building during peak hours as fresh loaves come out of the ovens throughout the day.

Dollywood’s Famous Cinnamon Bread
The Grist Mill remains the traditional destination for the bakery item, and many guests continue to stop there during their visit. However, it is no longer the only place to buy Dollywood cinnamon bread. Between the two resort markets and the publicly available official recipe, people now have several ways to enjoy one of the park’s signature foods without spending a day inside the theme park.
The Bread Isn’t the Only Reason to Visit Dollywood
Although visitors can now buy Dollywood cinnamon bread without entering the park, many travelers still choose to spend the day at Dollywood for its rides, live entertainment, festivals, and family attractions. The park has also earned national recognition for its guest experience.

For more than a decade, Dollywood has ranked ahead of the Disney and Universal parks in the annual theme park guest satisfaction study conducted by the National Amusement Park Historical Association. The survey asks park enthusiasts to rate parks in several categories, including friendliness and hospitality, where Dollywood has consistently finished at or near the top. For many guests, the park itself remains a major part of the overall experience, even if its signature cinnamon bread is now available elsewhere.
But for those who want to skip the bread line and enjoy more time in queue for the rides, they can stop by Dolly’s Tennessean Travel Stop for gas and cinnamon bread on their way to the park.
