Ubisoft says it currently has no other Assassin’s Creed remake actively in development after Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced. The Fall 2026 franchise update from head of content Jean Guesdon put the focus on new settings and stories instead of another remake queue.
Guesdon called Resynced the franchise’s first remake and said rebuilding old systems while balancing legacy and new pieces was a massive undertaking. He said the team is proud of the reception and still open to revisiting classics later without an active remake in the pipeline now.
Our teams are already focused on the next chapter of Assassin’s Creed titles, including projects you haven’t heard about yet, featuring new settings and stories,” Ubisoft wrote.
Black Flag Resynced players can download one final major update with New Game Plus, Nightmare Mode, new rewards, finishers, trinkets and extra customization. Quality-of-life support continues after that content drop.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla picks up New Game Plus on Nov. 5 plus an optional progression mode where gear, runes and masteries feed Eivor’s power ranking. New gear includes a Master Assassin outfit inspired by Naoe from Assassin’s Creed Shadows along with Mithril resource and Divine gear upgrades.
Codename Invictus, the multiplayer Assassin’s Creed project, went through a private Insiders Session with hundreds of players on an early prototype. Feedback praised parkour, vertical maps, team play and playable franchise characters with distinct skills.

Players also wanted more of the pillars that define Assassin’s Creed. Ubisoft says the Invictus team spent recent months acting on that note and the project is evolving while staying multiplayer-first.
Invictus Rework After Insiders Playtests
Invictus is still in development. Ubisoft warns online leaks may be incomplete or outdated while new iterations keep testing. The Insiders Session response to PvP was positive and the pillar feedback is driving the current rework on the multiplayer prototype.
That rework keeps multiplayer ambitions while pushing the build toward parkour, verticality and franchise identity players flagged as missing from the early prototype. Hundreds of Insiders already logged hands-on time before the team shifted course on the Invictus build.
Hexe Next Major Update Set for 2027
Hexe, the darker Assassin’s Creed experience, is making steady progress with work still ahead on the project. Ubisoft plans its next major Hexe update in 2027 and isn’t sharing a broader reveal window before that calendar mark for fans.
Ubisoft says the Hexe team remains focused on delivering a unique vision at the heart of the darker Assassin’s Creed project. The Fall 2026 note flagged good progress on that title and withheld any release year beyond the 2027 update checkpoint.
