Official Disneyland Paris concept art lays out how World of Lion King will take shape behind World of Frozen at Disney Adventure World. The overhead view places Pride Rock at the heart of the land, with a Splash Mountain-like flume channel winding through savanna-themed buildings and paths.

Disneyland Paris says construction began in fall 2025, with foundation work completed beside Adventure Bay near World of Frozen. The resort also says the first building structures are now rising from the ground.

The Disney Parks Blog describes the ride as a full retelling of Simba’s journey from cub to king. Guests will start in caves beneath a 120-foot Pride Rock before setting off on the water.

What the Concept Art Shows

The overhead concept art shows Pride Rock rising over the land, with the flume threading past themed shops, dining, and walkways. Guests line the paths near the waterfall, and the layout makes the ride the clear anchor of the whole area.

Disneyland Paris says the finished zone will cover more than 30,000 square meters. That footprint includes the attraction, a boutique, a dining location, and character appearances.

The scale matters for the park. Disney Adventure World needs full lands, not single rides, to compete for a full day of guest time. World of Frozen started that shift, and World of Lion King is built to extend it.

The Story Scenes Inside Pride Rock

Disneyland Paris revealed new concept art at D23 2026 showing Scar standing in Simba’s path. The scene draws directly from the climax of the 1994 film.

That scene will feature the first Audio-Animatronics figure of Scar ever built. Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa will also appear as Audio-Animatronics figures along the route.

A second piece of concept art shows Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa beside a fallen log in a lush jungle. Boats of guests drift past the trio, which points to a Hakuna Matata scene.

The two scenes show the range the ride is aiming for. One leans on bold reds and tension, while the other leans on bright greens and comedy. The film’s soundtrack ties the scenes together.

Why the Flume Anchors the Land

The Disney Parks Blog says the ride will use a new flume system with three slopes. The largest is a 52-foot drop from Pride Rock, which Disneyland Paris lists as 16 meters.

Disney expects the attraction to be one of the largest at the resort. A ride that size gives the land a skyline landmark visible across Adventure Bay.

The flume also gives Disney Adventure World a family thrill ride with broad appeal. Water rides draw both younger guests and adults, which fits a park built around animated films.

Where the Land Sits in the Park’s Rebuild

Walt Disney Studios Park became Disney Adventure World with the opening of World of Frozen. The resort has framed the rename as the start of a new chapter for its second park.

World of Lion King is the next major land in that plan. Disneyland Paris is also building a family attraction inspired by Pixar’s Up, so the park’s expansion is moving on more than one front.

Disneyland Paris has not announced an opening date. For now, the official concept art is the clearest picture guests have of what is coming to the Pride Lands.
