Universal Orlando Annual Passholders are getting some perks at Epic Universe—but not the one they really want: park admission. But a recent announcement might signal that annual passes are coming to Epic Universe in 2026.
Since the grand opening of Epic Universe in May 2025, Universal has offered Annual Passholders several benefits inside the park. These include dining and merchandise discounts, savings on VIP Experiences, and 10% off the Darkmoor Monster Makeup Experience.

While some have hoped for full passholder access during the park’s launch year, Universal has maintained a firm line: Epic Universe is not included in any existing Annual Pass tier. However, a specific expiration date attached to those perks—December 31, 2025—has sparked widespread speculation that 2026 will mark a major shift in how Universal approaches Annual Pass access to its newest theme park.
Expiration Date Raises Questions
According to Universal’s official documentation, all passholder perks tied to Epic Universe expire at the end of 2025. This detail is stated clearly in the terms associated with the benefits and has been acknowledged on Universal’s website and in promotional material distributed to passholders.

The end date aligns with another confirmed development: Epic Universe will be included in park-to-park ticket packages beginning January 1, 2026. These packages are already available for booking and include access to Epic Universe as part of 3-, 4-, 5-, and 14-day ticket options.
The fact that both the perk expiration and the broader ticketing shift occur on the same date has led many industry observers to conclude that Universal may be planning to introduce Annual Pass access to Epic Universe starting in 2026, either through an updated pass tier or optional upgrade.
A Familiar Strategy
This would not be without precedent. When Universal opened Volcano Bay in 2017, the water park was not initially included in every Annual Pass. Instead, access was added through new pass tiers and pricing adjustments.

Theme parks often stagger access to major expansions in order to manage crowds, gauge demand, and maximize revenue during the first year of operations. Epic Universe, being Universal’s largest theme park investment to date, is following a similar phased rollout.
2026: A Likely Transition Year
While Universal has not officially announced any changes to Annual Pass tiers, the expiration of 2025 perks and the confirmed inclusion of Epic Universe in 2026 vacation packages strongly suggest that a broader access plan may be on the horizon.

Universal’s decision to restrict access in the opening year may be a deliberate strategy to control capacity and maintain a high-quality guest experience during the park’s first months. By 2026, the company may be better positioned to handle increased volume and reintroduce passholder access in a sustainable way.
Conclusion
Epic Universe remains a separately ticketed experience for now, even for Universal’s most loyal guests. But with current passholder perks ending on December 31, 2025, and vacation packages already including the park beginning January 1, 2026, all signs point to a likely change in Annual Pass access next year.

For those waiting to return to the resort with full access, 2026 may be the year to watch.
