The official Dragon’s Dogma X account announced Asmongold along with a number of other streamers had been made into recruitable pawns for the upcoming Dragon’s Dogma II game.

As reported by PandasAndVidya, Kindred attempted to cancel Asmongold via shaming writing on X, “That’s crazy isn’t one of these people is an active participant in a harassment campaign.”

Not only did Kindred attempt to cancel him, but so did PCGamesN and NME writer Ryan Easby. As pointed out by former World of Warcraft Team Lead Mark Kern, Easby reacted to the Dragon’s Dogma II announcement writing, “Asmongold is a gigantic piece of shit and the reason we’re currently in the midst of what can only be described as hell, even for people completely divorced from the current situation. The fact that Capcom has decided to platform him in any way is just disgusting.

Asmongold responded to the attempt to cancel him stating in a YouTube video, “It’s taking a long-time to get to this point. We’re getting them now, it’s coming once a week now. It really is. It’s being a lot now. Honestly, I’m going to be real guys, I love it. Everybody thinking about me, talking about me. They’re all thinking about me, talking about me. What’s Asmon doing? What’s he saying? What he say today? What he say yesterday? Living rent free? I know I am. I absolutely am.”

Specifically responding to Easby, Asmongold questioned, “Well, if this person’s in hell, where’s a person that lives in Palestine or Ukraine? You know I wonder where does that rank on the scale? It’s super hell. You’re in hell? I don’t think so, man. I think that you have a few people that are disagreeing with you on the internet. That’s not really a big deal is it?”

After reading Kern’s post, Asmongold stated, “This is the issue that people have. Is that they have no issue and no problem talking about their opinions on things, but whenever somebody else has another opinion that’s different than theirs now they’re being harassed. I’m sorry guys, harassment is not the same as disagreement. If I’m disagreeing with you, you are not being harassed.”

He continued, “And also there have been tons of people, people are talking about them getting harassed. … There are people commenting every hour for me to kill myself. ‘Oh kill yourself.’ ‘I hope you die.’ ‘You’re a piece of s**t.’ Everything like that. And I want to let you know it’s not their fault.”

“Look, there’s mentally ill kids on the internet, they should be in a mental institution or something, but we got rid of those so they are on the Twitter,” he said. “So it’s not really their fault that these kids are saying this stuff. It’s just what happens. So how am I the harasser whenever I’m getting the death threats probably more than they are? How does this make sense by this logic? By that logic aren’t they harassing me?”

“The problem, I think, comes down to people that feel like they have a moral mandate, they have a moral mandate to talk about their opinions on issues and to expect everybody else to bow down to that opinion. And if other people disagree even in a way that’s respectful or nonaggressive it’s not enough for them because everything that is a disagreement is aggressive to them and any type of disagreement is violence. It is harassment,” he explained. “And if you escalate the vocabulary, you create a world where responding to that in a distorted way, right, like trying to ruin somebody’s life over disagreeing with you on Twitter, you make that reasonable because you’re changing the vocabulary of it. And I think that’s what happens.”

“So these people, they’re very toxic. They’re extremely toxic. And I think that every normal person on Twitter, there’s like seven of them, realizes that and I think people are tired of being lectured on morality, tired of being told what to think by people who are by all accounts s****y. I don’t want to be told what to do by a f***ing a**hole, a f***ing dumba**. I don’t want to be lectured about how much of a bad person I am by somebody who’s worse than me.”

Much later in the video Asmongold commented on Musk’s comments about Sweet Baby Inc. in response to Kindred’s cancellation attempt.

Musk posted, “Sweet Baby Inc is an evil blight on the gaming industry. All they do is make games terrible and try to cancel people.”

He added, “They cannot go broke soon enough!”

Amongold reacted saying, “I think people will realize the ridiculousness of this kind of stuff sooner than later. The issue that people have and this is what that you have to understand is that these people want to completely destroy you as an individual so that nobody else thinks to question them or like go against them at all.”

He then said, “I want to promise you guys one thing, I’m not necessarily against every single thing that they even stand for, but I’m not going to ever — like it doesn’t matter how many times they complain to sponsors, it doesn’t matter how many times they make tweets that are popular that say that I’m bald — it will never stop me from doing this. It’s not going to happen. I’m not going to stop talking about it. I’m not going to stop making videos about it. I’m not going to stop bringing awareness to this. It doesn’t matter what you do. It doesn’t matter anything. It’s just going to keep happening.”

“And to the extent that they fight me on it, it will make it worse. Because I think that the more normal people outside of the video game sphere hear about this issue and these people the more their position will seem extreme,” he declared. “So, yeah, if they want to make it a bigger deal, go ahead, but I don’t think they’re going to like the outcome of that.”
