Hammer Films is back with a new CEO and production strategy! After 60 years of waiting, horror fans are finally getting a new monster movie from this historic film studio.  

As horror news site Bloody Disgusting stated, “you can’t talk about the history of horror without talking about Hammer Horror.” And they’re absolutely right. Hammer Films has helped define the horror genre of cinema since 1934. One of their many classics is Dracula: Prince of Darkness, which starred the legendary actors Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing.

There are few shows as impactful as Avatar: The Last Airbender. It had everything from humor to drama to romance and existential contemplation. The concept of element-bending became solidified in fiction, the phrase practically coined by the show. After the season finale, Nickelodeon released several continuation comics, allowing the fans to learn what happened to the characters thereafter. The sequel series, The Legend of Korra, was not so well-received and divided the fanbase—much like The Last Jedi did with Star Wars.

The DisInsider reported that Disney is gearing up to make the next Pirates movie with Johnny Depp. Whether or not he will reprise his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow is currently unknown. According to the report, an anonymous source claimed that Walt Disney Studios is preparing to begin production on the next Pirates movie. The source stated that while “there is no timeline for when production will officially begin, [they] have heard that this entry will feature the return of Depp.”

He said in the video: “I just broke into the Vatican—I’m in the Vatican grounds right now.” He even mentioned being the “only one in here” when showing the Basilica interior. The video ended with him saying that he was being escorted to a local prison. He also joked about needing to “speak to the Pope” and “go to confession.” Finally, it showed a reporter and the logo of EWTN News Nightly—a real news program that reports on the Vatican.

A new Winnie the Pooh series is on its way with a mighty production team. And the best part: Disney has no involvement whatsoever.

Now that the beloved yellow bear is in the public domain, studios have been jumping at the opportunity to adapt it how they want without Disney’s iron hand. Most recently, the world bore witness to the horror movie Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey. Though not financially successful, the studio behind it is still moving forward with a sequel, as well as other horror films based on Disney IPs entering the public domain.
