The Walt Disney company’s new New York City Headquarters, located at 7 Hudson Square, doesn’t bear the name of company founder and visionary Walt Disney. Instead, the state of the art facility is named the Robert A. Iger Building.

This isn’t the first time a company facility was named after a Disney CEO. After all, the former Team Disney building that houses Bob Iger’s infamous office with a shower in it is called the Michael D. Eisner Building, bearing the name of Iger’s predecessor as CEO. However, there’s one major difference here.

Eisner left the Disney company in 2005. The Building was renamed in 2006. That means Eisner didn’t actively decide to name a building after himself.

There’s also a building dedicated to Frank G. Wells, the former president of the Walt Disney company from 1984 to 1994. But, once again, he didn’t name the building after himself. Rather, Eisner, who worked closely with Wells, dedicated the building to him in 1998.

Bob Iger is still very much the CEO of the Walt Disney company, which means he himself approved plans to name the company’s east coast HQ after himself.

Eisner also added new iconic elements to the company, including Disney’s MGM Studios in Orlando and Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim. He also oversaw the opening of Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Iger, on the other hand, has added no parks Disney’s domestic offerings, and oversaw Shanghai Disneyland, a park that faces significant challenges. Iger’s most common contribution to the company has been using its expansive checkbook to purchase studios and properties like Pixar, Lucasfilm, Marvel, and 20th Century Fox.

New York City and Walt Disney have a long history with one another. Steamboat Willie, and by extension Mickey Mouse himself, debuted at the colony theater in Manhattan. New York was also home to the 1964-65 World’s Fair, where Walt introduced the world to audio animatronic technology on a large scale with It’s a Small World and The Carousel of Progress.

With all this in mind, it might have been a nice gesture on Iger’s part to pay homage to the rich history of the company’s founder, a beloved national institution, with the christening of the Disney New York headquarters.

But instead, he named it after himself.

The new headquarters will house studios for live shows and events like The View. It’s an all electric facility with solar panels and green technologies designed to reduce the company’s carbon footprint within the Big Apple.

How do you feel about Bob Iger naming the the new Disney New York headquarters after himself? Do you believe it should have been named after Walt Disney? Should a building have been named after Iger once he left the company? Sound off in the comments section below and let us know!

Oh no! Narcissist who is running Disney to the ground is naming a building after himself? Wooooow! Like… something like that never happened! (don’t look at Trump Tower, don’t look at Trump Tower)

Would be funniest if they would be forced to sell the building because their stocks collapsed…

“We’re not trying to erase Walt from the company, don’t listen to those bigots and chuds online!”

Funniest sh*t is, they won’t be successful… They would have to change the company’s name. Hard to erase someone whose name is encrypted into worldwide culture for dozens of years.

But they successfully suppressed that Walt Disney was incredibly antisemitic and racist, though it was mostly because of the age and he wanted to sell. So he sold what people wanted.

Nowadays it’s flipped, entertainment is used for pushing messages and propaganda… bleh.

He’s a thief who ran a once great company into the ground.

New headquarters in NEW YORK CITY! A city so “progressive” even their affluent neighborhoods are suffering from their revolving door crime policies. With a District Attorney who’s so racist he refuses to prosecute black criminals who commit the majority of crime but tried to imprison a white veteran defending himself and others on the subway against a violent repeat criminals. With a mayor so inept he criticized the Biden admin’s policies (you NEVER criticize the wannabe dictators that installed you) and is getting torn apart by its DOJ.

Bobby couldn’t have picked a more perfect place for this monument to his ego, actually. It’s such a perfect embodiment of everything wrong with him and other elites.
