Two Walt Disney World Resort buses collided on the morning of Friday, December 5, 2025, along Buena Vista Drive, a major roadway that supports daily guest and operational traffic.

Witness video indicated that the Mickey bus attempted to shift lanes before striking the back of the bus ahead of it.

Details of the Crash

Buena Vista Drive is one of the most frequently traveled roads on Disney property. It functions as a key route between multiple hotels, Disney Springs, and several theme parks. The crash took place near Disney’s Riviera Resort, an area where buses often move between lanes to reach dedicated turning points. The rear bus sustained significant damage, including a shattered windshield and a crushed front end. The Minnie bus showed damage to its rear, with some reports saying it was totaled.

One eyewitness told PEOPLE, “The windshield of the Mickey Mouse bus was completely smashed in, and there was a lot of dust of some sort on the ground that looked like it was from the back of the Minnie Mouse bus.”

Emergency responders and Disney transportation personnel arrived shortly after the collision. Law enforcement officers assisted with traffic control while crews evaluated the scene. Several lanes were temporarily blocked as responders assessed the vehicles and checked for possible passenger injuries.

As of the most recent reporting, no serious injuries or fatalities have been confirmed. PEOPLE interviewed a witness who said her family member was inside a nearby vehicle at the time of the crash. She described the experience as alarming but did not report serious harm. The Central Florida Tourism Oversight District has not released formal information regarding injuries, and Walt Disney World has not issued an official statement on the incident.

Impact

The crash created delays on Buena Vista Drive during a period when traffic was already heavier than normal. The busy holiday season contributed to a more vehicles on the roadway, with the crash adding to the congestion. Transportation crews worked to clear the roadway and remove both buses from the travel lanes. The road reopened after the vehicles were moved, though some delays continued as traffic normalized.

Walt Disney World operates an extensive transportation network that includes a large fleet of buses serving parks, hotels, and guest areas. This system moves thousands of guests each day and is considered an essential part of resort operations. The collision drew attention to the challenges of managing high-volume vehicle traffic within a property of this size.

Officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the crash. No details regarding driver conditions, potential mechanical issues, or internal investigations have been released.
