The first trailer for the third Deadpool film, revealed to be titled Deadpool & Wolverine, admits the Marvel Cinematic Universe needs saving.

About halfway through the trailer a Time Variance Authority (TVA) agent named Paradox informs Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson, “This is your chance to be a hero among heroes.”

The trailer then cuts to a number of screens showing various clips from Marvel Cinematic Universe’s past.

Wilson appears to react to whatever task Paradox gives him by saying, “I smell what you’re stepping in, sensei. Your little cinematic universe is about to change forever.”

He then directly tells Paradox, “I’m the Messiah. I am Marvel Jesus.

As Gary Buechler of Nerdrotic noted in a recent video, the idea that Deadpool needs to save the Marvel Cinematic Universe is indeed an admission that it needs to be saved and that it was killed by the MSheU.

Buechler detailed, “Let’s just say Deadpool 3 is the biggest movie of the year. It flies past a billion dollars, everyone loves it, and the access media will cry the MCU is saved. First, I’d like to thank the access media in advance for admitting the MCU needed to be saved and in a way admitting that the MSheU killed it because, and I hate this, it took an act of desperation to even get Deadpool 3 going and to make things even worse it took an act of desperation to put Wolverine in a costume.”

Buechler also noted how the trailer admits the MCU needs to be saved, “Even within the trailer Deadpool admits Disney Marvel needs to be saved.

While admitting the Marvel Cinematic Universe needs to be saved is an admission of failure, whether or not the film actually gets saved is another question altogether. It’s one Buechler examines at length in his video, and he ultimately believes it won’t be able to do so.

He explains, “Can Deadpool & Wolverine do the job? Will it make the show that’s going to follow Deadpool & Wolverine, Agatha: Whatever The Hell It’s Called This Month, any good? No.”

“Will Deadpool & Wolverine make the Captain America sequel without Captain America that’s being entirely reshot any better? Probably not,” he continued.

He didn’t stop there, “Will Deadpool & Wolverine help Daredevil: Born Again, the continuation of the best thing that Marvel has ever done? That, along with Captain Black America Falcon is being entirely reshot. Most of the old gang is back together including bringing back Foggy and Karen and Bullseye. … And it’s missing that key component from the original Netflix show: the writers.”

“Will Deadpool & Wolverine make the Thunderbolts any better? A movie based on a relatively obscure team that only comic book fans would know about that features exactly zero members from the original comic book team, but it does feature pocket dime store Black Widow, the Task Mistress, I’m sorry the Task Master, and Ghost. You know Ghost from The Wasp and Ant-Man. I wasn’t even sure the Thunderbolts was even going to come out and apparently neither was Florence Pugh,” he said.

Buechler goes on to point all the other troubles Marvel has in its future including Ironheart, Blade, and Fantastic Four.

He then asserts, “Deadpool & Wolverine won’t fix any of the problems with the MCU in the same way Spider-Man: No Way Home didn’t fix any of the problems with Marvel Stage 4 or Phase 5.

“As a matter of fact, if Deadpool & Wolverine ends up being the biggest film this year it will make the problems worse,” he said.
